Baby joy gives Kanye new lease of life

Insiders reveal Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s marriage is back on track as the troubled star turns a corner in his recovery

e was reportedly H “profoundly depressed” as he recovered from his breakdown last November – and Kanye West had looked noticeably gloomy and distant in public appearances, fuelling rumours of cracks in his marriage to Kim Kardashian.

But last week pictures of the beaming couple appeared to dispel any suggestions of an impending divorce, as a far happier-looking Kanye was seen smiling broadly at a lunch party hosted by wife Kim.

And pals say the significant change in the 40-year-old rapper’s mood is thanks, largely, to the couple’s plan to hire a surrogate to carry their third child – with insiders revealing the mystery woman is already pregnant and due to give birth next year.

A source reveals: “Having another baby has given Kanye a new lease of life. He’s finally starting to come out of the dark cloud he’s been under, which has turned their relationship around after what Kim described as ‘nine months of marriage hell.’”

Last month, it was reported that the couple had turned to a surrogate to have their third child, two months after it was revealed on her reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, that Kim, 36, who has North, four, and 19-monthold Saint with Kanye – had been through unsuccessful surgery to try to repair a hole in her uterus, leaving her health at risk if she were to carry another child. The star’s sister Kourtney, 38, and her mum Kris, 61, both offered to be her surrogate, but pals reveal she and Kanye decided to go with someone they didn’t know to avoid any “emotional complications.”

A CHANGED MAN

The source says: “Kanye’s been a completely different person since they found out their surrogate was pregnant, he’s so much more relaxed. He’s been laughing and joking with Kim like he used to, playing with the kids and just generally showing a lot more interest in things.” Last week, Kim posted a snap of the family eating a Jamaican meal she’d made with her nanny at their lunch party, and pals say Kanye even gave a heart-warming speech. The friend says: “Kanye thanked Kim for such an amazing lunch and for putting up with him over the past few months. He joked that if she could put up with post-breakdown Kanye, she could put up with anything!”

The pals adds: “Kanye was gushing to everyone that their surrogate had just had a positive test, and Kim told him off for blabbing, but he insisted he couldn’t help it and could barely wipe the smile off his face all day.

“This baby has marked a U-turn in their relationship. Kim’s delighted that it’s given them the lift they needed, and is telling friends she’s just so grateful that the ‘old Kanye’ is finally returning.”
