Cheryl: “I can’t juggle everything alone”
Insiders reveal how Cheryl’s torn over going back to work and being apart from son Bear as she and Liam head to America
She’s reportedly S jetting to the US to meet Justin Bieber about a collaboration for her fifth album – just months after the star revealed that he’s been keen to work with Cheryl for a while. The US singer, 23, said last year: “With our commitments we’ve never managed to make it work… It’s something we both want to do.”
The planned duet has fuelled speculation that the former Girls Aloud star, 34, is moving to LA with Liam Payne, 23, and their five-month-old son, Bear, for a lengthy period after she was spotted at the US embassy two weeks ago collecting her visa.
Ahead of the move, pals say Cheryl – who Liam revealed has been looking after Bear 24/7 – is calling on family to help out as she prepares to head back to work.
BABY BUBBLE
A source says: “Cheryl’s loved being in her baby bubble, but watching Liam record his solo album has made her realise how much more she still wants to achieve and that becoming a mum doesn’t mean she has to sacrifice her entire career.
“Their initial plan is to go to America for a couple of months with her brother Garry and mum Joan. Her mum will then jet back and forth to be with them and help out with Bear. Cheryl’s still feeling torn, but she knows she can’t juggle everything alone and she’s going to need some help if she wants to relaunch her career.”
BACK IN THE SPOTLIGHT
After spending the past five months holed up at Liam’s Surrey mansion, Cheryl made her return to the spotlight earlier this month with a photo shoot for L’oréal.
The source says: “After her last album struggled to make a mark, Cheryl wants her next to be her best yet and that means holing herself up in the studio for hours. She’s started to mentally prepare herself for being away from Bear but at least she’ll spend more time with Liam as he’s planning to help on the production end.” Insiders say Cheryl has also been reaching out to La-based pals Khloe Kardashian and Eva Longoria for advice. The source says: “Cheryl’s given her LA pals a heads-up that she’ll be in town for a while and wants to enjoy herself and attend events while she’s there to boost her profile.”
Pals say Cheryl was left upset when Liam was spotted smoking recently after vowing to quit when Bear was born – but the 1D star insisted it was just a one-off. The source adds: “Cheryl knows Liam’s been under a lot of pressure and is fine with the odd slip-up. She’s just excited to have some quality family time out in LA.”
