The Royals dominated headlines around the world last week as Kate Middleton announced her third pregnancy just one day before actress Meghan Markle opened up about her and Prince Harry’s relationship in a magazine interview, where she revealed they were “two people who are really happy and in love.”

But the revelations came during a controversial time for the Royal Family, as the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death last month rehashed her troubled relationship with Prince Charles and her in-laws, and brought back a lot of public ill feeling towards the family.

And following Meghan’s revealing interview, there was a backlash against the Canadian star as royal experts and fans criticised her for seemingly making a mockery of Harry’s plea to respect her privacy, which he issued in October last year after their romance went public.
