Katie and Jamie finally go public
After reportedly dating since 2013, it’s now been claimed the couple had to hide their romance because of Tom
They’ve kept their T rumoured romance out of the spotlight for almost four years, but last week Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx finally confirmed their couple status when they stepped out hand in hand on a beach in Malibu.
Katie, 38, and Jamie, 49, were first linked in 2013, but have rarely been spotted together in public amid claims they kept their love under wraps due to a clause in Katie’s 2012 divorce settlement from actor Tom Cruise, which stated she had to wait five years before publicly dating.
TRICKY DIVORCE
Tom and Katie – parents to Suri, 11 – first got together in 2005, and were engaged seven weeks later. They divorced in 2012, after six years of marriage, amid reports Katie had grown increasingly concerned about Tom’s devotion to the controversial religion Scientology. The actress was awarded custody of Suri in an out-of-court settlement.
In 2013, Katie and actor and singer Jamie – who starred with Tom, 55, in 2004 film Collateral – appeared flirty and friendly at a New York charity do, sparking rumours of a romance and, in 2015, they were snapped holding hands in a recording studio. Tom hasn’t publicly dated anyone since the split and has only been rumoured to be seeing a handful of women.

However Katie had always remained tight-lipped about the romance, while Jamie insisted on several occasions they were “just friends.” He even dismissed the reports as “fake news.”
Over the next few years, Katie put in appearances at Jamie’s parties and gigs. She’s even rumoured to have worn wigs and hats to go unnoticed when she spent time with him.
But tellingly, in 2016, one of Jamie’s friends, actress Claudia Jordan, seemed to confirm the relationship in an interview, saying: “He is very happy with her. I like that he seems very happy.” However, Claudia then retracted her words and bizarrely claimed she’d never been told they were dating.
Last week, Katie posted a cute picture of herself and Suri at a restaurant – something she rarely does. And now speculation is mounting whether Katie and Jamie may get married soon.
