Inside Jordan’s secret nightmare

With a third marriage on the brink and devastating news about her mum, Jordan’s left reeling as her life unravels

-

❛IT’S AS IF SHE’S LIVING IN A SOAP OPERA AND REALITY HAS BECOME DISTORTED❜

She’s made millions on the back of her controversial persona, marriage scandals and love of surgery – and has openly admitted she thrives on creating drama to stop herself getting “bored.”

But last week, Jordan dropped another series of bombshells, after revealing on TV she suffered a miscarriage just days before she uncovered husband Kieran Hayler’s alleged year-long affair with their children’s nanny, as well as the heartbreaking news her mum Amy is dying from a terminal illness.

COPING MECHANISM

Sources say Jordan, real name Katie Price, has also faced speculation that Kieran’s latest scandal with nanny Nikki Brown, 40, is a publicity stunt to promote an upcoming book, and is secretly struggling to cope as her life spirals out of control. A source says: “Katie’s got so much drama going on, it’s as if she’s living in a soap opera and reality has become distorted.

“In the past, it’s seemed like she orchestrates a lot of the craziness in a bid to distract herself from the pain of the reality of her personal life. She usually thrives on the drama, but with everything that’s happening – and now her mum being terminally ill – it’s sent her to rock bottom and she’s told friends it’s the darkest time of her life.

“Katie prides herself on being extremely tough and even capitalising on the constant drama – but there’s only so much pain she can take.”

The source adds: “She’s stuck in a nightmare – she’s facing the awful prospect that her mum is dying, her marriage is falling apart, and that she may struggle to find a new partner if she does decide to divorce Kieran. She feels trapped because no matter which way she turns there’s heartache.”

The mum-of-five, 39, appeared on TV with mum Amy, 64, who spoke about her battle with a terminal lung condition, which gives sufferers a life expectancy of three to five years.

CHEATING SCANDAL

She also endured a backlash over claims that Kieran, who previously cheated on his wife with her best pals Jane Pountney and Chrissy Thomas in 2014, had had an affair with their children’s nanny Nikki.

Jordan’s ex-husband, Alex Reid, accused her of making up

Her life is infamously littered with fallouts and bitter feuds – but Jordan has always remained close to her family.

Her half-brother Danny, 42, has managed her career and she’s always doted on half-sister Sophie, 27. But the one person she’s constantly relied on throughout her roller-coaster life is mum Amy, making her terminal illness diagnosis even more agonising.

A source says: “She treats most people in her life with suspicion. She always worries people are trying to use her for fame or money, but she knows she can trust her family.

“The one person who’s always been there for her is her mum. They’re incredibly close, to the point they know what each other thinks or feels. Katie would be lost without her, which is why this [diagnosis] has been such a terrible blow.”

Posting on Twitter, Jordan wrote: “My mum has been diagnosed with a lung disease called Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), there is no known cure for this… My mum is a fighter. She is working out every day, going to work and living life to the full.”

IPF is a condition where the build-up of scar tissue in the lungs makes it extremely difficult to breathe, with only half of sufferers living at least three years after diagnosis.

Opening up on Loose Women last week, Amy said: “I know I’ve got it, but because I don’t feel bad, I’m tolerant of it. I think it’s the way we deal with things.”

Despite her disease being terminal, Amy is determined to help her daughter bounce back from her latest heartbreak, saying: “I’m not going to peg off until she is settled. I think it’s about time [she] got [herself] together properly and took life more seriously and be settled.”

Jordan has frequently opened up about how much her mum means to her after Amy gave up her job in 2002 to help bring up Harvey. In her autobiography You Only Live Once she wrote: “Mum, I couldn’t have wished for a better mum than you; you are my rock. I love you so much.”
