Jess: ‘We were all in bits when Mark left’
She rose to fame alongside her brother Mark on TOWIE – and Jess Wright reveals she was devastated to see him head off to start his new life in LA for a presenting job on US show Extra. Speaking to Closer at the TV Choice Awards, Jess, 31, says: “Saying goodbye at the airport was so hard. My mum was in absolute bits – we all were really. It’s a big step – he’s leaving home, his family and his friends.”
And Mark’s cousin Elliott, 35, who also starred in TOWIE – and is currently filming his latest TV show Elliott Wright: The Wedding, which documents the build-up to his big day – also congratulated Mark on his new adventure and insisted he and wife Michelle Keegan would make things work.
He says: “An opportunity like this doesn’t come around often so he’s just got to grab it. It’s only a year – he might stay, he might come back – who knows.
“Mark and Michelle have done it before – Michelle’s been away for ages and Mark’s been travelling. Everyone makes a big thing about it, but at the end of the day, work is work. Good luck to them – Michelle’s doing her thing and I’m proud of them.”
