Parenting expert Jo Frost, 46, meets child murderers in her new series, trying to work out why they committed their horrific crimes…

- By Anna Matheson

Can you tell us about your gripping new series? It’s about Britain’s child murderers. We look at the question of “nature versus nurture” and what drives these children to commit murder. All the cases are shocking. One of them is a serial killer, while another murdered someone at the age of 12. We also have a pupil who took the life of another pupil at school and we have a young boy who killed his own mother. What can we expect? It is heart-wrenching and fascinating. I do believe it’s going to open up a lot of conversation, as we look at both the facts and the emotional journeys of the families affected by these awful crimes. We also look at the science, as well as whether we’re doing enough as a society to prevent these types of crimes and stop the kids re-offending. Who should watch it? If you’re a die-hard crime lover or if you’re just curious about what motivates children to kill, then it’s for you. What do you do in the series? I interview experts and talk to families who have lost their loved ones. I go to the towns and the homes and share the stories of the people in these places. What do you do after a long day? My happy place is a bubble bath; I love a long hot bath. But I also love catching up with friends and just enjoying myself. I’ll watch a comedy show or catch up on other TV. You’ve been on TV for a long time now, how has your life changed? My career has elevated to a level where I’m able to help families on a global level. I get recognised in the street a lot, but people are really friendly and ask for advice.
