“I’m selling my virginity to become a woman”

- By Anna Matheson

When Lila Rose moved away from her family in France to London in 2014, she was finally able to live fully as a woman.

Because, despite being born a boy, the 25-year-old knew she was meant to be a girl as early as the age of four.

Although she wears women’s clothes and make-up and is taking hormones that have made her breasts grow, Lila Rose has yet to have gender reassignment surgery due to long waiting lists in both France and the UK on the national health services.

Worried about her mental health if she waits much longer, Lila Rose is taking matters into her own hands and is now looking to sell her virginity to pay for the surgery.

The desperate retail worker says: “At the moment, I feel like I’m in prison. I’m not physically the man I used to be, but I’m not yet the woman I want to be and it’s really distressing. I’ll have to wait up to five years on the NHS or the French health service for the surgery I desperately need.”

DESPERATE LENGTHS

She adds, “I’m trying to raise the £30,000 myself, but selling my virginity is the only option to get there quicker. Ideally, I’d like to draw up a contract with a man who’ll pay for my surgery and, in return, he can take my virginity when I’ve had the sex change, as I’ll be a virgin again.”

Lila Rose was born to a Muslim family and despite knowing she wanted to be a girl at the age of four, she was forced to pretend to be a boy.

She says, “My family were ashamed. I loved Barbie dolls, dresses and long hair, but my mother told me to stop it and insisted that I was a boy. She said if I wanted to be a girl, I should wait until she died.

“Even so, I’ve always been very feminine and I was bullied at school as people thought I was gay. I had a very hard childhood and really struggled with depression. I thought about suicide all the time – if I hadn’t moved to London, I would have killed myself.”

Lila Rose decided to move to the UK three years ago to begin a new life. Before, she would only wear light make-up, but once in the UK she was able to dress as a woman and leave her male identity behind.

A NEW START

She says, “In London, I was brave enough to be the true me. But just dressing like a woman isn’t enough – straight away I contacted a Gender Identity Clinic, but was forced to wait a year for an appointment.”

The lengthy waits in both the UK and France for gender identity treatment meant that Lila Rose felt she had no choice but to turn elsewhere.

She says: “I was desperate and getting nowhere either here or in France. So I went to the black market to see an unverified doctor in France and got the hormone drugs in three days.

“It was worth the risk, because I’ve been taking them for a year and my boobs have grown to a 34C, my skin is smoother and my hair is thicker. But there’s still a long way to go – I need sex reassignment surgery and I want further surgery on my face and boobs. I also want voice coaching lessons to help make my voice more high-pitched.”

Lila Rose plans to have her surgery in Thailand, where it will cost £15,000 for the sex reassignment surgery and £15,000 for breast and facial reconstruction surgery.

She says, “I don’t want to waste my 20s hating myself. By the time I have surgery on the public health services I’ll be old. It will kill me to wait that long.

“I’ll do whatever it takes to have the surgery and finally be free of the old me. I’ve already had offers as my story is on the internet, so I haven’t had

to advertise as people contact me directly. But none have been right – one man wanted me to live with him in Dubai for six months before the surgery, but that’s not what I want. It has to be on my terms. In the meantime, I’m saving and I’m still on the waiting lists.”

Lila Rose modelled as a man in her teens, but didn’t enjoy it.

She says, “I was just acting as I didn’t feel comfortable. I’d love to model as a woman.”

Lila Rose says it would be amazing if she fell in love with a man who would cover the cost of her surgery but, if not, her paying suitor would get a night of passion for their money.

She says, “I’ll be a virgin so the sex will be great. I’ll do everything I can to make sure it’s amazing, as the man will have given me something amazing. But it would need to be after I’ve had time to heal.”

While Lila Rose had gay sex as a man, she thinks it will be better as a woman.

She says, “I’d love to lose my female virginity with someone I love, but I feel trapped.

“A lot of transgender people turn to prostitution to fund the surgery – unlike Caitlyn Jenner, we can’t afford it.

“I don’t want to work as a prostitute, but I saw a girl sell

her virginity on the internet and I thought I could do the same.”

Lila Rose says she just wants the opportunity to live a normal life, date and fall in love.

She says, “When I go on dates now, men change as soon as they find out I’m transgender and they are rude, or they just want me for sex.

A NORMAL LIFE

“I’ve been attacked several times and last year I ended up unconscious in hospital. I long for a normal life and a steady boyfriend – I just want to be a proper woman and not have to explain myself.”

Once she’s had surgery, Lila Rose insists her life will be complete. Even her mother is beginning to come around to the idea, and recently bought her a pair of women’s pyjamas.

She says, “I face discrimination every day and it’s truly awful when people pull faces or make comments.

“But after the surgery, I’ll be free. I won’t have to explain or justify myself and I can be happy. I want a normal life as a girl and if it takes selling my virginity to get there, that’s what I’ll do.”
