Coleen vows:

“I don’t need Wayne to be happy”

She was recently seen on a day out with her two youngest sons in Blackpool, but fans were quick to notice that Coleen Rooney still wasn’t wearing her wedding ring.

Her appearance follows speculation about the state of Wayne and Coleen’s marriage after he was arrested for drinkdriving last month while in a car with another woman.

The footballer, 31, was issued with a two-year driving ban and 100 hours of community service after admitting to being three times over the drink-drive limit. Laura Simpson, a 29-yearold single mum who was in the passenger seat that night, was reported to have claimed that she enjoyed “kissing and cuddling” Wayne – something she later denied saying.

While pals say Wayne is doing all he possibly can to make it up to Coleen – who was holiday in Majorca when the news of Wayne’s arrest broke – they reveal she now has all the power and are convinced he’ll lose her for good if he slips up again.

FAMILY FIRST

A source says, “Coleen knows the world thinks she’s silly for taking him back. But it’s nothing to do with his £80m fortune, it’s because she wants to make the marriage work – the new baby and the boys come first and she’s made what she thinks is the best decision for the family.

“But she’s realised that she doesn’t need Wayne, she has a very close-knit family who offer lots of support and as she’s got older she’s got more confident. She wants to make the marriage work because she’s pregnant and, of course, she and the boys love Wayne. But she’s making sure Wayne realises it’s not just her he’ll lose if he makes another mistake.”

Love rat Wayne previously disgraced himself when it was revealed he slept with prostitutes while Coleen, 31, was pregnant with their first child Kai in 2009.

DETERMINED

Yet, despite his indiscretions, Coleen’s determined she’s not going to be a victim in all this.

The source says, “She’s had to endure this behaviour from him before and she’s determined to let him know she won’t tolerate it any more. She feels her world no longer revolves around Wayne and she’s realised she doesn’t need him to be happy – and if the worst happened she’d be OK. But she loves him and wants them to be together, as their family wouldn’t be the same without him. She’s older, wiser and more confident and wants things to work, but Wayne knows he has no more chances left.”

As Closer previously reported, Wayne has been fighting to save his marriage to Coleen – and has bought her a £5m villa in Portugal to try to make amends.

Pals reveal she is reportedly ready to give it one last shot, but only if Wayne works hard for it. The source says, “She’s making it clear that she’s not just going to forgive him. She’s making sure he sticks to chores, like helping the boys with homework and getting their lunches ready. She also wants him to spend more time with them.”
