Five beauty hacks that actually work
We’re all guilty of investing in the latest fads, but try being more resourceful by utilising products you already have at home! These tricks do the job nicely
SOOTHE CRACKED HEELS WITH NAPPY CREAM
Problem areas like dry heels and rough elbows need more than just moisturiser. But rather than splash out on specific balms, mums can rejoice as nappy cream works just as well. It helps restore and hydrate skin thanks to its antiinflammatory benefits.
COVER UP ROOTS WITH EYESHADOW
In need of a trip to the hairdressers, but don’t have the time? Don’t panic, eyeshadow is the perfect alternative to expensive colouring treatments. Use a large brush to tap the product on to your roots, then blend into the hairline to help match your existing hair hue.
CONDITION SKIN WITH OLIVE OIL
Legs in need of some extra TLC? Olive oil works a charm. It’s great for revitalising dry skin, leaving it smooth and nourished. If plain oil feels too greasy, go for moisturisers containing olive oil instead.
BOOST LASHES WITH TALCUM POWDER
Skip pricey primers as, when it comes to lashes, a simple dusting of talcum powder cheats a double-effect look. After your first coat of mascara, dust a clean brush with talc and wiggle through lashes. Finish with a second coat for a fuller flutter.
COLOUR CORRECT WITH RED LIPSTICK
Out of concealer? A simple swipe of your fave scarlet lippie can cancel out under-eye bags because red tones neutralise darker shades. Just dab a little lipstick under your eye, blend and then cover with foundation.
