An engagement to Prince Harry is on the cards, but the past could be coming to haunt Meghan Markle
They made their first public appearance together last week, and it looks like things are going from strength to strength in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship.
Breaking with royal tradition, the pair held hands, laughed, and were openly affectionate with one another at the Invictus Games in Toronto, Canada.
Meghan even reportedly moved into Prince Harry’s suite at the swanky Fairmont Royal York in Toronto during his stay, despite renting a house in the city she’s lived in for five years.
IMMINENT PROPOSAL
Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, have been dating for 18 months, with Kensington Palace taking the unusual step of confirming the couple’s romance last November.
Engagement rumours have swirled for months – with sources claiming Prince Harry could pop the question at Christmas, with the pair getting married the following year.
But despite the imminent proposal, Meghan – who shot to fame as paralegal Rachel Zane in TV series Suits – could face controversy, with the threat of her halfsister Samantha Grant and ex-husband Trevor Engelson both writing tell-all books.
Former actress and model Samantha, 52, has reportedly approached US publishers about a memoir that would focus on her famous sibling and family secrets – however sources claim the pair were never really close.
Despite this, Samantha – who shares the same father as Meghan – was defiant as she pitched the book, noting, “If only I could predict the media frenzy and racial slurs that would occur as a direct result of my beautiful baby sister possibly becoming the first biracial princess in royal history.”

Samantha has branded Meghan – whom she hasn’t spoken to for almost ten years – a “social climber” and claims, “Hollywood has changed her – I think her ambition is to be a princess.” To make matters worse, Meghan’s ex-husband Trevor is also penning an exposé on
the pair’s relationship. Meghan dated the TV producer for six years and was married to him for two years, before they got divorced in 2013 – and now Engelson, 40, has reportedly been offered £700,000 to talk about their life together.
Engelson is also reported to be producing a new show, seemingly inspired by Meghan’s relationship, about “a wife who leaves her husband to marry a British prince”.
However, Meghan, who broke her silence on her relationship with Harry for a cover shoot for Vanity Fair magazine last month, seems to be determined nothing will come between the relationship.
