Kim’s secret baby heartache
With reports that her sisters Kylie and Khloe are pregnant, pals say Kim K – who’s expecting via a surrogate – has been left reeling
They’re renowned for shocking their fans, but last week proved to be one of the most memorable yet for the Kardashian clan after Caitlyn Jenner confirmed daughter Kylie’s pregnancy; just days later, reports emerged that Khloe Kardashian was also expecting her first child.
Kylie, 20, is reported to be almost four months pregnant with rapper boyfriend Travis Scott’s child. While Khloe, 33 – who’s been open about her heartbreak over failing to conceive in the past – fuelled speculation she was also to become a mum after posting a cryptic message on social media, with basketball star boyfriend Tristan Thomas, 26.
BABY BOMBSHELL
And amid the furore that followed, older sister Kim, 36 – who appeared to confirm she’s expecting twins via a surrogate in a trailer for her reality show last week – broke her silence on the matter, slamming reports claiming she “didn’t respond well” to Kylie’s baby news.
Kim, who is married to rapper Kanye West, 40, Tweeted a link to reports of her reaction over the news, writing, “This sounds like a very fake story.” She also claimed the quotes from Caitlyn were “fake” and slammed a producer on the family’s reality show for announcing Khloe’s pregnancy on social media.
Kim has been honest about her own fertility struggles in the past. She suffered from placenta accreta (when the placenta attaches to the uterus and causes severe blood loss) while pregnant with her children North, now four, and 22-month-old Saint, and was told by doctors that another pregnancy would be high risk.
PANG OF SADNESS
Now pals say she’s battling with her emotions at seeing her sisters pregnant, as she had always dreamed of carrying her third child too.
A source says, “She was shocked when Khloe and Kylie told her they were pregnant – it came as a bit of a bombshell. She wishes she could have had her child naturally and, while she knows there’s no other way, the news has hit her hard. Kim’s feeling pretty emotional and, while of course she’s happy for her sisters, she also has this pang of sadness because she wants to share the experience with them and just wishes they could all be pregnant together.”
The Kardashians are famed for their fierce rivalry, and while Khloe and Kourtney are believed to have the strongest bond, sources say Kim – the undisputed star and highest earner of the Kardashian brand – sometimes feels pushed out.
The source says, “Kim has often felt left out among her sisters. She feels Kourtney and Khloe have a tight bond, as do stepsisters Kylie and

Kendall. And now that Kylie and Khloe are talking about doing pregnancy yoga classes together, going shopping for maternity clothes and getting pregnancy massages, it’s made Kim feel even more isolated.
“Khloe even joked at how Kim will be laughing a few months down the line, when she’s skinny and they’re desperately trying to lose their baby weight – but the comment left Kim feeling upset.”
CRUEL TAUNTS
To add to her pain, sources close to Kim say she fears both her sisters might be subjected to the same cruel taunts about their bodies that she had to endure when she was pregnant.
A source says, “Kim was emotionally scarred when people attacked her and she’s worried her sisters might go through the same thing.
“She’s also concerned about Kylie’s age – Kim eloped when she was just 19 and understands the pressure of settling down so young.”
The source adds,“even though she’s feeling a little emotional about it all, given the trauma she’s endured with her own pregnancies, ultimately she just wants to protect them both and doesn’t want anything to ruin this special time for them.”
