Scarlett: “I’m scared I’ll lose everything”

With rumours that Scarlett Moffatt’s relationship with Luke Crodden is under strain, friends are worried for their future

They only rekindled their romance four months ago, but Scarlett Moffatt and Luke Crodden’s relationship appears to have hit the rocks again.

Last week, reports surfaced that they’d split, after the TV presenter and Luke unfollowed each other on social media. But despite Scarlett’s spokesperson denying the claims, insiders say she’s nervous their relationship won’t survive the next few months, as she focuses on work and maintaining her weight.

Since winning I’m A Celeb! last year, Scarlett, 26, who rose to fame on Channel 4’s Gogglebox, has established a lucrative career. She shed 3st and released a fitness DVD, landed her first presenting role on the remake of the TV dating show Streetmate, and her autobiography is due for release later this month. She is also heading to Australia in November to host the I’m A Celeb! spin-off show, Extra Camp with Joe Swash.

A source says, “Scarlett’s career is going strong, and she’s feeling a lot of pressure to make sure everything she turns her hand to is a success. She is living her dream right now, but that comes with a hectic schedule.

“It’s also been taking its toll on her relationship with Luke, and she’s worried about how it will affect them. When she’s working on I’m A Celeb, they’ll be on opposite sides of the world and she won’t be able to dedicate the time to him that she’d like to.”

CAREER GIRL

The pair split in February and Scarlett’s increased workload was widely believed to be the reason, with insiders saying at the time that hairdresser Luke had struggled to cope with her success. However, they reunited in June.

Now friends say Scarlett is worried history could be repeating itself and is unsure if her relationship with Luke will withstand the strain of her busy work schedule.

The source says, “Scarlett wants to make the most of her success and doesn’t feel she can turn down any offers of work. Right now, it feels like her life is a juggling act and she doesn’t know how to keep everyone happy. She’s scared she’ll lose everything by spreading herself too thinly.”

Last year, Scarlett showed off her dramatic 3st weight loss, revealing she had gone from a size 18 to an 8 by ditching junk food and embarking on a highintensity exercise programme.

However, in recent months, she appears to have put some of the weight back on, sharing pictures of her curvier figure on social media.

As Closer reported earlier this year, the hours Scarlett spent in the gym put a strain on her romance with Luke, with friends revealing at the time that her increased confidence made him feel like she was drifting away from him.

Now insiders have disclosed that the Newcastle-born star is feeling pressure to keep the weight off, but doesn’t want it to add more strain to her already fractured relationship.

MR RIGHT

The source says, “All Scarlett wants to do is chill out at home, eating takeaways in front of the TV with Luke, but she feels she can’t do that if she wants to be in her best shape for work. Rather than relaxing, she is worrying about fitting in gym sessions and making time to cook meals from scratch, which means she has less time to spend with Luke.”

Before splitting the first time, Scarlett made it known that she and Luke had already spoken about marriage and children, even admitting that they wanted to call their first daughter Aurora.

And friends say she hasn’t given up on her dream of a life with Luke. “Scarlett believes he is The One,” says a source. “She knows the next few months will be tough but believes that, if they can get through it, they’ll be more solid than ever.”
