Warwick Davis, 47, the star of Life’s Too Short and Star Wars is back on screen with ITV show Tenable, the fun quiz based around Top 10 lists…

- By Hannah Wright

In Tenable, teams compete to answer questions about people’s “Top 10s”? I love it because not only can you be entertained, you can learn something as well – little facts that you can take to the pub, like what is the UK’S favourite cake…

Is there a pressure to be funny as the show’s host?

I’m normally quite a shy person and I’m not one for cracking jokes. The family normally groan if I ever do it round the house, but when I get into a TV studio I can’t help myself. I will see the funny in every situation and I want to make an entertaining show. The banter is part of the whole experience, and we get some great teams on.

You’ve acted in Star Wars (as an Ewok) plus Harry Potter (as Hogwarts teacher Professor Flitwick); are people star-struck when they meet you?

They are a little bit, and that always surprises me - I can never really figure it out. Do I get star struck? Not as much as I used to, but if it’s somebody I admire then yes, I do. I was when I first met and worked with Steve Coogan and I would be if I met Will Farrell. Actually, I’ve based my performance on Tenable on Alan Partridge...

With this show being all about Top 10s, can you give us some of your ‘Tops’? Smell: Lavender; I love it. And

vanilla. TV show: Line Of Duty. I live in the past with television and I’m only onto series two, but I think it’s absolutely brilliant. Food guilty pleasure: Chocolate – I like a bit of Cadbury Fruit & Nut. Wind-down activity: Watching Columbo, I’ve seen them loads.
