MY TYPICAL DAY:

‘Sometimes I’m working until 4am’

-

LIFE IS HECTIC AT THE MOMENT, so I’ll get up at 7am, or sometimes earlier if I’ve got my son Eddie, three [with ex-wife Jessica Rose Moor], with me. We’ll eat breakfast together – I’ll have crushed avocado on toast with chilli flakes and I’ll make scrambled eggs for my older kids – Charlie, 23, Tuesday, 22, and TJ, 20 – if they’re staying with me. I’LL THEN DROP EDDIE OFF with his mum and head to the rehearsal rooms to practise songs from my album with my live band. It feels so good to be playing music again and to have actually released an album – I still can’t believe I’ve done it. FOR LUNCH, I LOVE A HOMEMADE VEGETARIAN CURRY that I’ll have cooked before and taken with me, or I’ll grab a veggie meal on the go. With the launch of my album, my tour, plans for DIY SOS, and the film I’m writing, my afternoons are full up with meetings and interviews. But I always make sure I spend time with my kids every day, even if it’s just half an hour in between plans. FOR DINNER, I LOVE GOING TO THE RETREAT KITCHEN in Richmond, which is a vegan restaurant I co-own. They do really hearty meals – you don’t have to eat like a rabbit to be a vegan or vegetarian. I love it. I WATCH AN EPISODE OF A PERIOD DRAMA BEFORE BED – Jenna Coleman was great in Victoria. I’m usually in bed by 11pm, but I’m a workaholic and sometimes I’m up until four writing or planning. Nick Knowles' debut album Every Kind Of People is out now
