How much do you spend per week? About £200 for me and my daughters, Connie [16] and Pollyanna [eight]. I mix and match between farmers’ markets and supermarkets. Describe your daily diet... Breakfast is porridge with raw milk, topped with nuts, blueberries, flaxseeds, cinnamon or cacao. For lunch, I’ll have two organic scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on sourdough toast with either harissa or houmous on the side. For dinner, I’ll slow-cook a beef stew with rice and plenty of veg, or a chicken stir-fry. I snack on Brazil nuts, almond butter, apples or cheese and crackers. Is there anything you refuse to eat? I’m very careful about choosing where my food comes from – especially my meat. I won’t eat it unless it’s organic or grass-fed. I don’t buy ready meals, either. What’s the strangest thing you eat? I love marrow-bone. When we have roast chicken I make a bone-broth by re-roasting the carcass and slow-cooking with herbs, carrots, celery or whatever I have in. What would you cook to impress dinner guests? A roast with all the trimmings never fails. What’s your food hangover cure? An English breakfast with baked beans and black pudding is a must, followed by a green juice for good measure.
