Ferne: “Sunday and I will be in matching Christmas outfits”
The former TOWIE star opens up about her first festive break as a mum, and moving forward with her life
It’s been a year that’s turned her life upside down, with Ferne Mccann settling down and, in April, publicly declaring she’d fallen in love with Arthur Collins, just days before he was arrested for his part in an acid attack in an east London nightclub.
And Ferne, 27 – who last month gave birth to their daughter Sunday and also completely cut ties with Arthur – has said despite having a “turbulent” six months in which she’s cried every day, she is looking forward to a big traditional Christmas to celebrate Sunday’s first one ever with her family.
POWER COUPLE
Ferne says, “Everyone spoilt Sunday with gifts as soon as I gave birth, so I don’t want to go crazy at Christmas as she’s so tiny. She won’t remember any of it. But I’ll definitely dress her up nicely and get her a few bits.
“Now she’s here, I’m so glad I had a girl so we can match our outfits. Move over Harper Beckham and North West! I can’t wait to style her up. We are going to be the ultimate power couple and match our outfits, twinning for life! She’ll be moaning that she hates it when she’s older, but I’m doing it.”
FAMILY TIME
It’s a very different Christmas to one Ferne would have imagined just a few months ago.
Earlier this year, she excitedly opened up about having bought her first home, saying, “Arthur is moving in the day after I get the keys! I get them on 5 May, he’ll move in on 6 May.”
The star has currently moved back to her family home, but she’s heading back to her flat soon – and is planning on hosting Christmas at her new Essex base.
Ferne says, “I’m living back with my mum at the moment so she can help me out. She’s a besotted granny.
“Sunday and I will pop out and, when we come back, Mum ignores me and just goes straight to Sunday. But I’ll be back in my flat for Christmas and my whole family are coming over. My place is really cosy and I’m a massive foodie, so we’ll have my tree up and we’ll enjoy a turkey with all the trimmings.”
NEW YEAR, NEW START
And while she admits her girlie nights out are behind her for the time being, she’s positive about 2018 and still wants to see in the new year in style.
She says, “I don’t know where I’ll be for New Year’s Eve, but I’d love it if Sunday and I could escape somewhere sunny.
“I’m being really positive about the new year and fresh starts, and I can’t wait to see what’s coming our way.”
