THE BIGGEST CELEB BOMBSHELLS OF 2017

The #Metoo movement

When dozens of women, including Rose Mcgowan, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie (above), spoke out over accusations that Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein sexually abused, assaulted and raped women, it sparked a worldwide scandal that soon spread to other celebs. Incredibly, for something so appalling, there were some positives. While what was unearthed was horrendous, it did spark the #Metoo movement, which encouraged people who had been abused by someone in a position of power to speak up – and that’s one step towards putting a stop to it.

Zoë Ball heals her heartache

One of the year’s most heartbreaking moments was when Zoë Ball’s boyfriend Billy Yates tragically committed suicide in May. The nation felt for her. I was over the moon to see her stepping out with a smile on her face earlier this month and to hear she’s found love again with Michael Reed – she deserves it.

Wayne’s drink-driving scandal

Wayne Rooney messed up – again – when he was arrested for drink-driving and banned for two years in September. He happened to be driving the car of a girl he’d met and was allegedly flirty with. That same night, I was actually out with my wife at the bar opposite. If I’d known I’d have confiscated the car keys and told him to get his act together. Poor Coleen.

Scary files for divorce

One of the most high-profile splits came in March, with the announcement that Mel B was divorcing hubby of almost ten years Stephen Belafonte. There were accusations of domestic violence, affairs with the nanny and even claims he drugged her. It’s amazing how some relationships seem happy and successful – when, in reality, there’s some dark stuff going on underneath.

Jordan reveals Kieran cheated… again!

Jordan’s toyboy husband Kieran Hayler – who cheated on her with her two best friends in 2014 – was caught out again, when she revealed in August he’d been diddling the nanny (who denied it) and, allegedly, a woman from Katie’s Pony Club TV show.
