Chloe Madeley:
“My mum’s lost 1/ 1 st on a sushi diet” 2
She’s an exercise fanatic S with a body to die for and has previously tried – and failed – to preach her passion for “clean-eating” and the benefits of the gym to her famous parents, Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan.
But now Chloe Madeley says her mum has overhauled her body her own way, with a newfound love for sushi and healthy eating.
Chloe, 30, previously revealed she’d given up on attempting to change her parents’ diets, saying, “I’ve stopped preaching the virtues of exercise and clean-eating to them – they’re lost causes!”
AMAZING CHANGE
But in September, Judy, 69, was snapped looking noticeably thinner, and Chloe says her mum has lost weight after discovering a love of raw fish and yoga. She says, “I think Mum’s lost around 1½st. She’s really got into healthy eating – she discovered sushi on holiday and now she has sashimi three times a week, she’s obsessed! She’s also bang into salads – which is bizarre as I don’t think she ever really cared about healthy eating before. She also does yoga once a week, as well as lots of walking with my dad. What you’re seeing now is the results of someone who shifted their diet and routine. It’s amazing.”
Chloe’s dad Richard, 61, was also in the spotlight recently for his stint on I’m A Celeb! spinoff Extra Camp, where he was praised for his witty comments and youthful looks, with fans Tweeting, “Richard would be an amazing celeb to go in the jungle” and, “Richard Madeley should be on telly every day.”
And Chloe says that he too has started to embrace a healthier lifestyle – and that she’s proud of her parents’ strong and longlasting relationship. She reveals, “Dad’s got on board too! I bought him a barbell and he’s started doing exercises. Mainly upper body stuff like bicep curls, which I think is so cute. I love it!
“I think it’s phenomenal my parents worked together for 21 years and didn’t kill each other! There’s a lot to be learned from them in terms of communication in a relationship.”
PLAYFUL ROMANCE
Chloe has been dating England and Wasps rugby player James Haskell, 32, for four years, and their playful relationship and videos on social media have delighted fans.
But while Chloe – who has brother Jack, 31, plus twin half-brothers, Dan and Tom, 40, from Judy’s previous relationship – is proud of her parents’ 31-year relationship, she admits her romance with James is very different. She says, “Do I want to emulate [my parents’] relationship? No! They’re very much my parents and I don’t put them on a pedestal. James and I are different – we take the p**s out of each other. Taking the p**s is his form of interaction and even affection.
“If I was too sensitive, we wouldn’t have made it past the first couple of dates. But I have three older brothers, so I’ve grown up with a thick skin. James is very jokey and we have the same sense of humour.”
NEW LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE
Chloe’s body transformation started in 2013 when her then-boyfriend, Corrie star Danny Young, introduced her to weightlifting. Since then, she’s transformed her “curvy size 10-12 body” into a super-toned size 8 and gained a six pack. And while she says she was happy when she was “curvy, wobbly and normal,” she’s now found a new level of confidence – especially in the bedroom. She says, “Body confidence definitely helps in the bedroom! The more you can leave your insecurities at the door, the better it’ll be. You have to be able to let go and enjoy the experience, instead of being selfconscious or uncomfortable. “Toning up and getting in shape is only going to improve your body confidence and therefore your sex life. It definitely has a ripple effect on all aspects of your life.”
