CHERYL’S FURY AS SHE’S TROLLED AGAIN

-

It was meant I to be her big moment when she teased fans with yet another comeback last week, starring in a short commercial for L’oréal’s latest Elvive campaign – and just days later Dermot O’leary revealed Cheryl would be returning to The X Factor.

But the 34-year-old’s excitement was overshadowed when she was on the receiving end of a nasty backlash from fans after appearing for just a few seconds in the one-minute clip.

Trolls were quick to criticise Cheryl, with some claiming she looked “fake” and had relied too heavily on hair extensions. “She looks horrid – too thin, rubber faced and gone OTT on the fillers,” one comment read, while another added, “Photoshopped beyond belief. Virtually unrecognisable now.” The singer was even accused of having surgery by an angry viewer, who said, “She needs to leave her face alone. It’s making her look older than her years.”

A source says, “Cheryl was so upset and angry when she read the comments. She doesn’t understand why some people just want to bring her down.”

The source added that boyfriend Liam Payne, 24, has been supportive, telling her to ignore the comments.

Cheryl is no stranger to criticism. In 2015 she was so outraged by comments about her very slim physique that she called for skinny shaming to be made illegal. The star was then ridiculed by fans for her decision not to confirm her pregnancy, and then found herself being skinny shamed again when she posed in a bikini just four months after giving birth to first child Bear with Liam.

The source says, “Cheryl is hurt by how hostile people seem to be towards her now. She is starting to feel as if every time she puts herself out there she gets slated by someone.”
