‘Bum fillers left me in agony’

A botched procedure left Big Brother’s Lateysha Grace, 25, in near constant pain

Lateysha Grace L had always wanted a bigger bum and, after a trip to Miami – where mega-bums are a common sight – she decided to have filler injected.

However, she did no research into finding a reputable clinic and the procedure, performed by a total stranger at her home in 2013, went badly wrong and left the Welsh model in excruciating pain.

Lateysha, former star of the MTV reality show The Valleys, tells Closer, “A friend gave me the number of a woman who did them but, when I called her, she didn’t speak English and I had no idea if she had any [cosmetic] qualifications. I wasn’t worried though as bum shots were really common.

“She came to my home and injected me with some sort of filler. I didn’t know what it was but the needle was massive. I had four injections in each cheek. The pain was unbearable and then, after she’d gone, white stuff started leaking out of the injection sites. I panicked a bit, but didn’t call the woman again because I thought it was probably normal.”

Doctors later told her the unknown substance that she’d been injected with was rubbing against the muscle, causing inflammation and pain.

“They said I’d have to wait for my body to break down the filler. My bum was much bigger, which I loved,” says the star, who appeared on Big Brother in 2016. “But I was in constant agony. I’d get sharp pains in my butt cheeks and couldn’t sit down for more than an hour. If I was driving, it’d go completely numb. I’d have to pull over at every service station and have a walk around.”

Three years later, an MRI scan revealed almost all of the substance had dissolved.

“I feel very lucky, it could’ve been so much worse,” she says.

Incredibly, the botched procedure didn’t put Lateysha off having further work done, and she recently had a £4,000 Brazilian butt lift at a reputable clinic in Turkey. It involved having fat from other areas sucked out of her body and injected into her buttocks.

She says, “I know people will think I’m mad, but I love having a big bum and at least with the butt lift I had something natural injected into me. And I didn’t have any side effects from it – I’d definitely do it again.”
