fter her A reputation was called into question last week, insiders say Scarlett Moffatt is devastated her name has been dragged through the dirt again.

Damning reports claimed her fitness DVD – released following her 3st weight loss in 2016 – was a sham. She could face paying its producers £100,000 after failing to keep off the weight for a year.

The former Gogglebox star, 27, said she lost the weight through exercises promoted in the DVD, and by following a 1,200-calories-a-day diet.

But new reports allege that she secretly went to a gruelling bootcamp in Switzerland for a week, surviving on between 600-700 calories a day after panicking that she wasn’t going to reach her target weight through the DVD training.

UNDER PRESSURE

It’s even been reported that revealing text messages Scarlett sent at the time have emerged.

In one, she apparently told a friend, “It’s so hard losing weight anyway, without this pressure of having to persuade people you’re doing everything they’re telling you, even though I know it’s bad on my body only eating like 600/700 calories a day [crying emoji].”

And in another reported message, she is said to have stressed, “My mam’s going to call. I can’t do this any more, it’s too much and I’m having to almost persuade people to believe me—i wanted to make an honest DVD. This doesn’t feel right [crying emoji].”

A source says, “This has probably been the worst week of Scarlett’s life. Ever since she won [I’m A Celeb!], she felt

unstoppable. She had to pinch herself over how lucky she was. Now she feels her honest, girlnext-door, friendly character has been trampled on.

“She knows her career is built on being relatable, and she’s wanted to be a positive role model for young women – but now she feels everyone thinks she’s a liar. It’s crushing for her, and there have been a lot of tears.”

Online trolls were quick to brand Scarlett a “liar” and a “fake.” One blasted her, “You are fake, get off the TV.” While another added, “Zero sympathy. @Scarlettmoffatt was more than happy to sell lies to an audience of influential young women.”

Scarlett’s spokeswoman was quick to hit back and deny further speculation that she’d even resorted to diet pills. But she confirmed Scarlett had attended the bootcamp and that it had been a “horrid” experience.

Now insiders say Scarlett – who went from 11st 4lbs to 8st but regained most of the weight in just five months – may be asked to pay back £100k for breach of contract as she was meant to maintain her weight loss for a year. According to reports, legal letters have been exchanged between the DVD production company and Scarlett’s representatives.

FEELING ANXIOUS

Adding to her devastation, Scarlett, who’s now thought to be a size 12-14, has been trolled for her weight gain for months, and said recently, “It’s really affecting my anxiety. I spend days crying and putting on a brave face.”

An insider says, “It’s been awful. She feels like she’s being hit from all sides. She’s been crying and waking up in the middle of the night worrying. She just wants this situation to be resolved as soon as possible.”

After rising to fame on Gogglebox, Scarlett – who is currently dating fitness model Lee Wilkinson – continued to gain fans with her bubbly personality, which helped her win I’m A Celeb! in 2016.

But recently, things haven’t run quite so smoothly. Earlier this year, she sparked romance rumours with Ant Mcpartlin – who split from wife Lisa Armstrong in January – when fans spotted a framed picture of her with Ant and Dec on her bedside table in one of her Instagram pictures. Lisa added fuel to the fire by liking a Tweet speculating that Ant was “hiding something or someone” during their split. Both Ant and Scarlett have denied a romance.

And just last week, there were reports that Lee had begged Scarlett not to tamper with her looks after she admitted getting lip fillers and veneers.

The source adds, “Scarlett’s trying to focus on the fact that she’s worked so hard and achieved so much in her TV career. She wants to prove that she’s never lied or done anything underhand to get ahead.

“She’s planning a tell-all interview about her weight loss to set the record straight. She feels she hasn’t changed from the fun-loving girl next door that people fell in love with, and she’s determined to silence the haters once and for all.”
