Lauren & Vicky hit back at DVD scandal

After Lauren Goodger and Vicky Pattison are dragged into the backlash over Scarlett Moffatt’s DVD secrets, insiders say they feel they’ve always been honest with fans

They famously T lost a whopping 7st between them after releasing their own diet DVDS – but last week, Lauren Goodger and Vicky Pattison came under fire after celebrity personal trainer David Souter lifted the lid on how the girls really lost weight.

The former reality stars came under scrutiny hot on the heels of TV presenter Scarlett Moffatt, who reportedly faces a £100,000 bill after it emerged her 3st weight loss was the result of “starving herself” on a 700-calorie daily diet and exercising for six hours a day on a Swiss bootcamp, rather than following her workout DVD as she claimed.

Now, trainer David – who has worked with several reality stars – blasted the fitness DVDS of EX-TOWIE star Lauren and former Geordie Shore babe Vicky as a sham, saying, “There are so many lies, it’s horrible.”

Despite Vicky, 30, putting her weight loss – which saw her shrink from a size 16 to a size 6 – down to “ten-minute workout routines” from her 7 Day Slim workout, she had actually been “starving” herself and exercising for hours on end at bootcamps.

FITNESS SHAM

Defending the DVD, which was released in 2013 and earned her a rumoured £160k, a spokesperson for the star said, “Vicky has never shied away from discussing her fitness DVD or the downsides of what she deemed as getting to a weight that wasn’t healthy for her.”

In Lauren’s OMG! Workout, released in 2015, she lost 4st and five dress sizes. The 31-yearold star is believed to have pocketed £17k from the sales and has remained tight-lipped after being branded a “sham”.

She regained most of the weight she lost in five months. Telling Closer at the time that she found her DVD regime impossible to maintain, she said, “I haven’t been worrying about my diet or training and it’s been really liberating.”

And sources say Lauren, who showed off her new size 10-12 body in a sheer outfit last week after following a juicing

diet, is determined to distance herself from the scandal.

An insider says, “Lauren’s gutted her name has been dragged into this. She feels she’s constantly slammed by online trolls about her weight, no matter what size she is. She didn’t enjoy doing the DVD, but it’s an episode she’s forgotten about now. So having it brought up again is annoying. She feels like she can’t escape criticism no matter what she does and just wants to be left out of it.”

PUSHED TOO FAR

Vicky – who’s currently a size 12 and loved-up with her fiancé John Noble – later admitted she pushed herself too far for her workout, saying she was “under pressure” to hit a target weight. She added, “my face looked gaunt and I became obsessed.”

Reflecting on her weight loss to Closer in 2016, she said, “I looked good and I was fitting in size 6 clothes, but I had no social life. In order to be happy and healthy you have to enjoy your life and enjoy things in moderation.”

WRECKED REPUTATION

The star has since gone on to build herself a fitness empire, training as a personal trainer and hosting her own show MTV about weight loss, and is terrified that being branded a sham will wreck her reputation.

A source says, “Vicky’s had her body struggles in the past, but she’s finally reached her happy place and John tells her every day how gorgeous she is.

“She’s determined not to let this criticism get to her, especially as she’s been honest in the past about how the DVD lifestyle wasn’t for her. She doesn’t have anything to hide, but is horrified that her reputation could be damaged.”
