Tell us about Star Boot Sale?
I’d never done a car boot sale before and I’d never even been to one. They’re actually brilliant and I love rummaging through other people’s stuff; you can pick up some absolute gems.
What were you selling?
Before this came up, I’d had a huge clear-out of my wardrobe and half of my clothes were in bags waiting for my sister to go through them. I had to tell her that she wasn’t allowed to look until after I’d done Star Boot Sale, because I wanted to make really good money for charity.
Did you have to haggle?
Absolutely, and I’m not good at that – it was really embarrassing and made me cringe. I thought I was giving good prices on a lot of things, but people really want the lowest of the low at a car boot sale so I did struggle with that, because I’m looking at a dress that might be worth £200, and people are going, “I’ll give you a fiver for it!”
Did Spencer come down to support you?
He didn’t, actually, because I had to come straight from one of our friend’s birthdays in Scotland so he was still up there.
What do you enjoy doing in your downtime?
I love going for walks with my dog and Spencer. We try to fit that into every day, usually in the morning. It’s a nice way to chill out and catch up with each other before the start of a busy day. Also, we absolutely love sitting in and watching movies, and having friends over for dinner.
