‘Finding love should always be celebrated’

-

Radio presenter Vanessa got engaged to singer Ben Ofoedu in 2006, when she was aged 44.

She says, “I love Kylie. I love how positive and confident she’s come across after what seems like a difficult split from her fiancé. I understand why she might feel a bit jaded about marriage, but I think she’s wrong to rule it out completely.

“As you get older, you may think it’s too late for you or wonder if that life stage has passed you by. You may wonder why your relationships have failed. But I believe you can change the record. I split from my first husband Michael Kurer in 2000 and became engaged to my fiancé Ben [Ofoedu] 12 years ago. It’s taken us a long time, but we still have every intention of getting married. Things have been getting in the way financially, as my two daughters recently got hitched and I may need to splash out on a face lift any day now!

“But I want my big day. I want a huge party with all my friends and family to celebrate what me and Ben have. I don’t care about getting older as I don’t think there’s a set age you should become a bride. There’s no expiration date on finding love or for getting married. Finding love should always be celebrated.

“Kylie is a gorgeous woman and I hope if she fell in love, she would reconsider marriage. I’m sure all her loved ones would be rooting for her to have the happy ending she deserves.”
