Eva on her pregnancy:

The Desperate Housewives star opens up about her pregnancy – and says she’s still flattered to be labelled a Hollywood sex symbol

“I’m done with being too big for my clothes”

Her name is synonymous with Hollywood glamour and sex appeal, but Eva Longoria’s life has changed drastically in recent months as she counts down to the arrival of her first baby, which is due next month.

Despite her growing bump, the 43-yearold actress – who is expecting a boy with her businessman husband of two years José Bastón – admits she still finds it hard to believe she’s going to have a baby.

She says, “It’s surreal, it’s very surreal. When I talk about pregnancy, it feels like I’m floating above my body and I’m like, ‘Who are you talking about?’ And then I look down and see my belly and I’m like, ‘Oh yeah – it’s me!’”

And while Eva, who counts mum-of-four Victoria Beckham as one of her closest friends, says she’s found her pregnancy relatively easy, she admits she misses her tiny size 8 figure.

TREASURING PREGNANCY

She reveals, “My pregnancy has been pretty good. I’m not too tired – I have had moments of, one minute being completely alert, and then snap, I’m fully out like a light. But for the most part, I’ve been pretty energetic. I feel my best when I’m working and busy. I’m a little done with being too big for all my clothes, though – I miss them.

“I want to treasure [my pregnancy] because it goes so fast. That’s what all my girlfriends say and I’ve got to remember that. I want to be more in the moment. But it’s hard to not count the days down as I’m so excited to meet him – we both are.”

While she’s now happily preparing to start a family, Eva has suffered her fair share of heartache in her personal life. Her second marriage to basketball player Tony Parker hit the headlines amid reports that he had cheated on her with multiple women. Her previous marriage to US soap actor Tyler Christopher ended after just two years.

GLOBAL SEX SYMBOL

Professionally, Eva’s big break came when she was cast as the gorgeous and charming Gabrielle Solis in TV phenomenon Desperate Housewives in 2004. She was named the world’s highest-paid TV actress in 2011 and the role solidified her status as a global sex symbol.

Fifteen years on, Eva admits she’s still thrilled by the label, giggling, “I’m flattered, naturally. Please say it to me again, I can never get enough. It’s great, isn’t it?”

Since her Desperate Housewives debut, Eva has launched her own production company, started a fashion line and created her own charity, The Eva Longoria Foundation, which helps Latina women build better lives for themselves.

And while she’s now recognised as an actress, director,

producer, activist and businesswoman in her own right, Eva admits that the road to fame and fortune wasn’t easy. She says, “Desperate Housewives was an amazing time for me – for my career and to work with amazing women. It was a phenomenon, and to be part of that wasn’t something I was expecting. “I worked hard to get to where I am now. To get here, I started out as an extra – I wanted to be on a set and that was the only way I knew how. And then I got one line, and then I got two, then three, then eight. I didn’t skip any step. I wasn’t discovered in Starbucks. I paid my dues and then found myself in this very fortunate position.”
