Scarlett’s torn over giving Lee another chance
As Lee Wilkinson’s ex brands him a “liar”, pals say Scarlett Moffatt doesn’t know what to believe
fter ending her A romance with Lee Wilkinson last month – accusing him of cheating and branding him a “pathological liar” – insiders say Scarlett Moffatt, 27, was left torn when the fitness model publicly denied reports he’d been unfaithful and insisted he was desperate to win her back.
Speaking last week, Lee said, “I have not actually cheated. It’s difficult because Scarlett doesn’t really want me to say anything as we might be able to sort things out and get back together. I hope we can.”
But just days later, his ex, Samantha Irving, branded him a “liar” and a “cheat” in and claimed he’d bombarded her with messages and cried over his unhappy romance with Scarlett. She said, “He’s putting a show on the phone, crying his eyes out to me then jumping into bed with her. Scarlett doesn’t deserve to be used like that... I think she will get back with him.”
DEVASTATED
Now sources say Scarlett – who it was last week announced would be covering the Royal wedding for a national radio station – doesn’t know what to believe.
A source says, “Since their split, Lee’s been pleading for another chance. He explained the situation with his ex and admitted to messaging her, but insisted it was innocent. Scarlett was considering giving things another go, but was devastated when Samantha spoke out. Lee insists it’s been blown out of proportion, but now she doesn’t know what to think.”
The TV presenter got together with Lee – whom she’s known for years – at Christmas. But in February, another of Lee’s exes – who didn’t want to be named – branded him “fame hungry” and claimed he was “using” Scarlett.
FRIENDS’ CONCERNS
Insiders previously told Closer that Scarlett – who’s regained the 3st she lost ahead of her 2016 exercise DVD – credited Lee with giving her confidence.
Speaking before the split, she recalled how unhappy she was after slimming from a size 18 to an 8, saying, “I know when I look at pictures of myself [when I was thinner], and the media was being nice to me and girls were saying they wanted to look like me, I wasn’t happy. I’m way happier now.”
Now, despite Scarlett feeling torn, friends are begging her to move on. The source says, “She feels so hurt over Lee and really thought she’d found The One. Her friends have told her that too many exes have badmouthed him. They think it’s best she moves on, enjoys being single and puts herself first.”
