Charlotte: “I want to try for a baby next year!”
The former Geordie Shore star opens up about her plans to start a family with Joshua Ritchie, and why she never wants a toxic romance again
She was left devastated after suffering an ectopic pregnancy with former Geordie Shore flame Gary Beadle in 2016 – fearing for her fertility when doctors were forced to remove one of her fallopian tubes and an ovary. And she couldn’t hide her tears on her new reality series, The Charlotte Show, in March when she discovered Gary had since welcomed a son, Chester, with girlfriend Emma Mcvey.
But speaking to Closer, Charlotte Crosby insists she’s not given up on her baby dreams and is now desperate to become a mum after finding happiness with her Ex On The Beach star boyfriend Joshua Ritchie, 23, late last year.
FAIRY-TALE ENDING
The star – who is set to turn 28 this month – says, “I would love to start trying for a baby next year! I don’t want to be an old mum, I want to be a cool young mum. Having a family is the one thing in life I really want – I’ve done so much with my life already, and becoming a mum is my dream. I want the fairy tale of getting married and having babies – doesn’t everyone? I can see myself marrying and having babies with Josh. He’s still quite young, though, so we’ll see!”
Charlotte has endured her fair share of heartache since rising to fame in 2011. After a turbulent on-off relationship with her co-star Gary, she went on to date reality star Stephen Bear. But the rocky relationship turned sour amid cheating rumours, and the pair split for good in October last year.
HAPPIER THAN EVER
But since finding love with Joshua, Charlotte says she’s never been happier and insists this is her first “real” relationship. She says, “Everything is going amazingly with Josh. He’s so laid-back and I really like that about him. It’s strange because I’ve never been in a relationship like this before. My mam and dad always say relationships are supposed to be fun and easy, but I’ve never actually had that. With other boyfriends, I’ve been constantly worrying and in tears every weekend after arguments with them.
“But with Josh, it’s different. When you finally get into a relationship that’s easy and stress-free, you’re like, ‘S**t. This is what it’s supposed to be like!’ I feel like I’ve wasted so much time being unhappy. Now I know what a proper relationship is meant to be like, I’ll never be in a bad one again.”
