Coleen’s turmoil over ‘separate lives’ with Wayne

Pals say Coleen Rooney is torn over her family’s future following Wayne’s potential move to the US

She looked relaxed and content as she soaked up the Barbados sunshine last week on a family holiday. But insiders say that behind her smiles, Coleen Rooney was secretly stressing about husband Wayne’s potential move to the States, fearing they may be forced to live separate lives.

Last month, it was reported that the couple – who are parents to sons Kai, eight, Klay, five, Kit, two, and Cass, three months – were considering relocating to America after Wayne, 32, was said to have signed a deal “in principal” with DC United in Washington. But sources say Coleen, 31, is torn over whether to uproot her sons’ lives.

A source reveals, “Coleen was excited about the prospect of a move because she felt it could mark a fresh start, but she also doesn’t want to upset the boys. They’re really attached to life in the UK and any mum would worry about her children struggling

with such a big move.”

MILES APART

The source adds, “Right now, friends fear she’s facing a dilemma. She knows how much this potential transfer means to Wayne and is fully supportive of his career. She’s not ruled out a move to the States, but understandably she’ll be wanting to see if it’s something the boys could come around to. Otherwise, they may have to deal with the long distance and living thousands of miles apart.” Coleen faced a rocky 2017, after Wayne, 32, was pictured on a boozy night out with party girl Laura Simpson in September, which ended in him being slapped with a driving ban and a 12-month

community order.

The state of their marriage remained under speculation for months but, in November, Coleen insisted she had forgiven Wayne and the pair were trying to move forward.

SUPPORTIVE

Now insiders say she’s trying to stay positive, telling Wayne they’ll work through any scenario as a team. The source says, “Coleen is torn, because she hates the idea of living far away from Wayne, especially after the year they’ve had. But she’s hugely supportive of his career and is trying to stay excited about his potential move. Friends wouldn’t be surprised if she’s reassuring him that even if they have to do long distance, they’ll make it work. They’ve weathered so many storms during their marriage, the feeling is they’ll survive the long distance. But everyone knows it won’t be easy.”

Coleen only welcomed fourth son Cass in February this year, but the star – who ruled out another baby last month – looked trim and toned in a bikini last week after reportedly shedding around 2st. And sources say size 10 Coleen has told friends she’s excited to achieve her best body yet.

An insider says, “She dotes on her four boys, but she’s made sure to have some time out for herself to work out two or three times a week. She finds a high-intensity workout is a good way to de-stress.”

BODY OVERHAUL

The insider adds, “When she’s at home, she’ll use Cass’ nap time to get out her yoga mat and focus on core exercises, like sit-ups or planks. She hasn’t been on a crazy strict diet, but she has tried to stick to lots of healthy protein and vegetables, and snack on things like houmous and vegetables. She’s also tried to cut back on ordering takeaways at the weekend and makes healthy curries to enjoy instead. Even if the boys are eating cookies, she curbs her sweet tooth with fruit.

“Friends say she’s shed around 2st since giving birth and can’t believe how happy and confident she feels in a bikini. She’s around a size 10 but, ideally, wants to be a size 8. She’s really thrilled with how flat her stomach feels and says she has so much more energy. Now that she’s done with pregnancies, she can’t wait to blitz her body and get in the best shape possible. She wants to be happy and healthy, but also feel really good about herself.”
