Kendall: “My sisters’ babies are beautiful!”

Supermodel Kendall Jenner gets candid about her famous family and the secret pressures of life in the spotlight

- By Daisy Mclure

She’s a supermodel, fashion S icon, and part of the infamous Kardashian reality TV clan – but Kendall Jenner is also arguably one of the most famous aunties in showbiz, with an incredible nine nieces and nephews.

The star’s sister Kourtney, 39, is a mumof-three to Mason, eight, Penelope, five, and Reign, three, and her brother Rob, 31, has 18-month-old daughter Dream. This year also saw the arrival of three new additions as sister Kim, 37 – who is already a mum to North, five, and Saint, two – welcomed daughter Chicago in January. Meanwhile, Khloé, 33, gave birth to daughter True in April with boyfriend Tristan Thompson, 27 – who has been accused of cheating – and youngest sister Kylie, 20, became a mum to daughter Stormi in February.

When asked about her huge family, Kendall says, “It’s awesome and always a blessing. I’m so excited. All the babies are so beautiful. It’s great.”

But the star has insisted she’s in no rush to have a child of her own, admitting recently, “I have moments when I’m like, ‘Do I have baby fever? Do I want a baby right now?’ But I don’t, I don’t.”

STRONG UPBRINGING

The 22 year old rose to fame in 2007, aged just 12, when her family’s reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians first aired. But despite over a decade in the limelight, she insists her sisters and her parents, Kris and Caitlyn Jenner, have kept her grounded.

She reveals, “Having a strong upbringing and having a strong set of parents grounds me. I also have really strong sisters, who have always helped me.”

Kendall found herself caught up in a wave of controversy last April when a Pepsi commercial she starred in received a huge backlash – with critics claiming it “mocked” the Black Lives Matter movement.

At the time, the star – who faced a barrage of abuse online – said, “I feel really bad that anyone was ever offended. I feel really bad that this was taken in such a wrong way and I genuinely feel like s**t.”

But a year on, Kendall says she now tries to tune out negativity and only look at the positive things in her life. She insists, “I don’t focus on anything negative. Everyone always has something they are insecure about, but you just need to go on with life and realise that it’s all good.”

Asked how she deals with social media trolls, the model – who has 91 million followers on Instagram – says, “I just don’t really look at it. If you don’t see it, it can’t bother you. If it ever does come my way, I just brush past it.

“It’s all Instagram trolls and people that have nothing to do with their lives, so they sit behind a computer and troll all day. You can’t think too hard into it.”

PRIVATE LOVE LIFE

Since starting her modelling career at 16 years old, Kendall has become one of the most famous faces in fashion. She has walked the runway for Versace, Victoria’s Secret and Chanel, and graced the cover of Vogue three times. But despite her huge fame, Kendall has always remained tight-lipped about her love life. The star has been reportedly dating basketball star Blake Griffin for the past eight months, and has also been romantically linked to Lewis Hamilton, Harry Styles, A$AP Rocky and Justin Bieber.

Asked why she keeps her love life so private, she insists, “I think it’s something sacred. It’s something between two people,

and nobody else’s opinion needs to be involved in it. People want to start drama. If I had a boyfriend, people [would most likely] say all this stuff that’s probably going to cause us to break up.”

And the model has been open about her battles with anxiety and panic attacks. Speaking earlier this year, she said, “Anxiety is all mental, so you have to try to find your way around it. I try to maintain it, but sometimes it’s out of your control.”

And opening up last year, she admitted, “I once had a really bad attack on a plane and just had to ride it out. I felt my heart beating a million miles an hour and I even went a little numb.”

PHYSICAL PRESSURE

And she insists that her jet-set lifestyle as a top model can take a punishing toll. She explains, “It’s exhausting, especially when you travel everywhere, because jet-lag can get to you. Physically and mentally, it can mess with you sometimes. It’s no joke.” While the careers of reality stars are often fleeting, Kendall and her family have remained top stars, often described by fans as America’s Royal Family and achieving a combined worth of £350m. Asked why she thinks her career is so successful, Kendall insists, “Authenticity is what is going to end up working in your favour in the long run. If anything is forced or fake, it’s not going to last. I think that just being you and doing what makes you happy is the goal.”
