he was born and bred S in Essex and is a TOWIE favourite, but Chloe Lewis admits she’s tired of the way the men on the show act towards women. Chloe, 27, says, “A lot of blokes on TOWIE treat women appallingly. I would never date someone who treats me like some of those boys treat their girlfriends. It’s unacceptable – young people watching the show will think it’s normal to behave that way, but it’s not.”

VERBAL TAUNTS

After the latest series of the hit reality show, Chloe – who dated former TOWIE star Jake Hall for six years – was praised by fans for standing up to co-star James Lock when he launched a foul-mouthed tirade against his current girlfriend Yazmin Oukhellou, calling her a “f***ing brat”. Chloe defended her friend, but she believes disrespectful treatment is becoming commonplace in Essex, and is happier now she’s dating banker Danny Flasher.

She says, “In Essex, it seems it’s cool to talk badly to your girlfriend. Obviously, not all the men are like that, but in my experience, it’s happening more and more. Danny says it’s mad for boys to talk in that way. It’s quite old-school – some believe women should stay at home, cook, clean and be silent, and that the men are in charge. It’s disgusting.”

One Essex man Chloe approves of is co-star James “Arg” Argent, who reunited with his on/off love interest Gemma Collins this year. And Chloe – who is close to Arg’s ex, Lydia Bright – hopes nothing goes wrong for them. She says, “I’m loyal to Lydia, but I think Arg and Gem are well-suited. There’s chemistry, they have a laugh and are good fun – I’d like to see it last. I think either Gemma will get pregnant or it will fizzle out and they’ll drift apart.”

NATURAL LOOKS

Chloe rose to fame on TOWIE in 2015, and during her time on the show, she has resisted temptation to get plastic surgery – a rarity in the world of reality TV – and says that some of her co-stars’ choices have put her off having work done. “I’m not anti-surgery, but sometimes people do go overboard,” she says. “The lip filler thing is too much for me and it’s put me off ever wanting it. I don’t get the trout pout craze – it’s not attractive and you can see that you’ve had it done. But I can never say never – when I’m older, I’ll probably have a facelift myself!”
