Posh’s hurt over claims she’s ‘so clingy’
Victoria Beckham is left humiliated by trolls who have mocked her ‘suffocating’ behaviour around husband David
They put recent T divorce rumours behind them to celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary in Paris last week, with Victoria and David Beckham both posting gushing messages on social media.
But hours later, snaps surfaced of them that did little to dispel whispers of trouble as Posh, 44, appeared to be draped all over her husband, 43, while he seemed to be paying little attention to her.
CONSTANT CRITICISM
One troll said, “He doesn’t look like he’s into her anymore. He’s like ‘will ya get off me!!! VB seems to be the one putting in all the effort.” Another wrote, “She looks so clingy and needy. Must be suffocating for David!”and after Posh posted a pic to Instagram of her affectionately resting her hand on him during their anniversary dinner, a fan wrote, “She is gripping his hand, he is gripping his wine. Says a lot.”
A source says, “Vic was hurt by the comments. It’s humiliating to have the state of their relationship picked over again based on a few pictures. She’s fed up that they always have to consider how things may look to the outside world. She knows he doesn’t mean it, but sometimes she wishes he’d loosen up and show her more affection in public.”
Last week, body language expert Judi James revealed the pictures suggested there was “tension” between the couple, adding that it appeared David was “withdrawing into himself and away from Victoria.”
The couple have faced intense scrutiny of their marriage over the past few years, with their work schedules keeping them apart and David’s partying with other women putting their relationship in the spotlight. Now his upcoming move to Miami to launch a football team is putting more pressure on them.
And pals say the mum-of-four – who posted a pic with David on her birthday in April, in which fans said David showed her no “affection” – feels it’s relentless. The source says, “Vic is so sick of their marriage being criticised and feels like they can’t catch a break. David tells her to ignore it, but it’s not as bad for him as everyone sees him as fun and likeable while she’s mocked for being sullen or clingy.”
PDA COACHING
Earlier this year, Closer revealed the fashion designer had hired a body language expert to help them put on more loved-up displays in public. And pals say Posh might be keen to make their “PDA coaching” more regular.
The source adds, “Behind closed doors, Vic says David is very loving. She’s suggested they have more coaching, and while he says it’s not necessary, he’s agreed as he knows it’s important to her.”
