Pals urge Kerry:

Kerry Katona has been indulging in a string of boozy nights, just three months after swearing off alcohol

‘Don’t fall back into bad habits!’

She appeared S to have turned her life around, following her split from third husband George Kay last August, shedding 2st through a healthy new lifestyle, embracing her single status, and even claiming in April that she had stopped drinking, saying “I’ve drunk enough to last me a lifetime, so I don’t need to do it any more.”

But a series of recent boozy nights out has sparked concern among Kerry Katona’s inner circle, that the mum of five – who was snapped downing two bottles of fizz with former CBB pal Austin Armacost at Bradford Pride last week – may be slipping back into old ways.

BACKLASH

A source says, “Kerry previously swore off alcohol, but in recent weeks she’s been going out drinking. She insists she’s just having fun, but pals worry that she’s undoing all her hard work. She’s been so focused on getting into a good headspace and transforming her body, they’re urging her not to fall back into bad habits.”

Kerry, 37 – who has revealed she’s been clean from drugs for nine years – sparked a backlash when she recently argued against a crackdown on drinking alcohol in airports on This Morning, insisting, “When I’m going away on holiday, even if it’s a 7am flight... most of us gravitate towards the bar.”

Reacting to her recent remarks, one viewer took to Twitter to post, “Kerry is hardly the shining example of restraint is she?”

Her comments came just two years after she was filmed drunk at Gran Canaria airport in April 2016, rolling on the ground with her trousers round her ankles and topping up her tan after a 4am boozing session. Kerry later admitted “it wasn’t my finest hour”. Our source adds, “Pals have warned Kerry that her comments about alcohol seem at odds with her recent claim she’d stopped drinking altogether. She’s worked hard to transform her image and preach the virtues of a healthy lifestyle, and they don’t want to see that unravel.”

BOOZY NIGHTS

But insiders say Kerry – who has Molly, 16, and Lilly-sue, 15, with first husband Brian Mcfadden; Heidi, ten, and Max, nine, with second husband Mark Croft; and Dylan-jorge, three, with George – has defended her boozy nights out, after admitting to pals she’s eager to meet someone new. As Closer recently reported, the star was keen to jump back into the dating scene after seeing ex George move on with new girlfriend, beauty queen Nicola Moriarty, and has even created a profile on dating app Bumble.

The source says, “Kerry wants to find a new man, and has been saying she won’t do that sitting at home. She doesn’t want to rely on dating apps, and likes the idea of meeting someone in real life. She’s insisted she’s been through a lot and doesn’t see the harm in letting her hair down once in a while.”
