Cheryl fears Liam will expose their split secrets
In the wake of their break-up, Cheryl’s worried about what ex-boyfriend Liam Payne could divulge
He was infamously H loose-lipped during their twoand-a-half year relationship, revealing a string of personal details about notoriously private Cheryl – including how she thought she was “huge” following the birth of their son Bear and how she had “no complaints” about the size of his manhood.
Now insiders say that following their split earlier this month, Cheryl is growing concerned over what ex Liam Payne, 24, could divulge next.
Amid reports that Cheryl’s new album, which pal Nicola Roberts has helped with, is set to be inspired by her heartache, sources say Liam is also working on new music ahead of his debut album release in September.
A source says, “Cheryl was recording her album at a very challenging time when their relationship was failing, so she used much of her new music as almost a kind of therapy.
“But in turn, pals say Cheryl is aware that Liam may use his own album as a way to let off steam and could detail his own sadness over the break-up. Her inner circle say she’s concerned about how honest he will be, particularly as he has a habit of revealing too much.
TOO HONEST
“While Cheryl’s music may well reflect her heartbreak, she’s told friends that, given his past interviews in which he revealed too much for her liking, she worries Liam could take things to the next level and expose more details about their home and family life that she would prefer to keep private.”
Cheryl’s been scarred in the past by details of her personal life making headlines – including during her marriage breakdown from ex-husband Ashley Cole in 2008 when a girl who the footballer was accused of cheating with sold a string of sordid details to the tabloids.
In an interview with Piers Morgan following their split in 2010, she said, “It’s the last time I’ll ever talk about my personal, private
life. So this is it!”
In August 2017, Liam – who was last week pictured leaving a London restaurant with a group of women – even admitted that Cheryl scolded him for oversharing about her in interviews, explaining, “She says, ‘What did you have to say that about me for?’”
The source says, “Cheryl doesn’t think Liam would do anything malicious, but she knows they have different views on what should be public and what should stay private. It’s no secret she grew annoyed with Liam’s habit of oversharing when they were together. And friends say she fears what he may let slip now they’re no longer a couple and that he will betray her trust.
DIFFERENT LIVES
“She knows he gets carried away in interviews and will have all the promotional chats around the album too, which is an additional worry.
“While they remain friends, the fact is they both now have different lives, other than sharing Bear of course, who’s their priority in all this. Friends say she hates feeling out of control when it comes to her personal life being made public.”
The source adds, “Cheryl doesn’t want Liam dragging up secrets about their break-up, which could lead to a public slanging match and wants to just move forward and have an amicable relationship, as well as always putting Bear first. She knows deep down that Liam would want what’s best for their son and she just hopes she can keep him on her side.”
