OAP dominatrix: “I order men to clean my house – but they pay ME!”
Sherry Lever was “frumpy and bored” in her 40s, but after her hubby left her at 60, she reinvented herself with a surprising new career – and a sexy makeover
Relaxing on her R sofa with a cup of tea, Sherry Lever admires her spotless floor and sparkling windows. But the 67 year old hasn’t finished an afternoon of housework. Instead, she’s watched as a man wearing a French maid’s outfit cleans up around her.
Sherry is a dominatrix who charges men £120 an hour to be abused, whipped or become her slave. And they do everything from changing her sheets and planting flowers in her garden to washing her son-in-law’s car.
Sherry, who goes by the name “Mistress Sophia” and lives in Swindon, Wilts, with her daughter Amy, 30, and Amy’s fiancé, 39, says, “I’ve been doing it for six years. I’ve turned the conservatory into a “dungeon” complete with chains, whips, mouth gags and cages. It’s a far cry from my old life, going out to work as a chef, coming back to cook dinner for my husband and caravanning at the weekends. But I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”
PHONE SEX
Sherry’s life was turned upside down when her husband of 25 years left in 2010. For six months she was barely able to eat or sleep and was terrified she’d lose her house due to mounting debts. Then, one evening, she saw a TV documentary about phone sex operators. She recalls, “I knew I had to do something about my debt and phone work seemed like an easy option. I told Amy and, luckily, she found it funny as did my other two children. I’d never imagined doing any sort of sex work previously – the missionary position was about as exciting as it got. I surprised myself by discovering I was good at it, probably because I’d had plenty of practise at faking enjoyment!
“Clients kept asking me to meet them so, a few months in, I allowed a regular to come to my house. I wasn’t worried about my safety as I trusted him and we’d built up a good rapport. The next day, he arrived and got changed into a French maid outfit and stilettos. I was nervous, but excited. We discussed that he wanted to be my slave, so I started by locking him in my spare room. When I let him out, I whipped him on his bottom and demanded he clean my kitchen. He replied, ‘Yes, mistress,’ and began mopping while I shouted and screamed at him. Two hours later, he paid me £480 and went home. It was so much money for doing very little, I couldn’t believe it – and I’d enjoyed it, too.”
That evening, Sherry told Amy. Sherry says, “She was supportive and with her blessing I created my alter ego, Mistress Sophia, and advertised my services online, charging £120 an hour. I immediately started getting texts from men asking when they could come over.”
SEX DUNGEON
Sherry took bookings and hastily went shopping for the tools of her trade – whips, gimp masks, gags, blindfolds, handcuffs and various outfits
She says, “I spent a few hundred pounds and, when I got back home, I turned my conservatory into a sex dungeon. It’s where I do most of my work and now my gear is worth around £9,000. I have a bed with a cage underneath where I lock my slaves if they stay overnight. If they need to go to the toilet, they have to ask for
my permission. Often, I’ll tell them to wait.”
Over the past six years, Sherry has built up a wide range of clients. A year after she started, she was so in demand that she was able to ditch her day job and clear her debts. She’s almost paid off her mortgage and goes on regular holidays to Europe.
She says, “I watch my diet and get a bit of Botox so I look good for them. The men are aged between 19 and 84, some of them are married and workwise they’re anything from barristers to builders. I don’t feel guilty that they’re married; we aren’t having sex. My clients never touch me – except my feet if they’ve come for foot worshipping.”
PUPPY MASK
But Sherry has found it difficult to date since becoming a dominatrix. She says, “I tell men about my job as I need a man who accepts it, but that has proven difficult. I’ve had some enjoyable flings, though. I never date my subs and, to be honest, I don’t fancy any of them anyway.”
She adds, “Amy and her partner work during the day, but once they came home early, and saw a man on his knees dusting. They burst out laughing and ran upstairs. Once the session had finished, he admitted he enjoyed feeling humiliated by that.”
Sherry dressed another client as a dog with a puppy mask over his face. She says, “It was my most outrageous session. I walked him to the park with a lead around his neck. I threw a ball in the air for him to fetch and an actual dog chased it at the same time. It was during school hours so there were no children around, but people did give him funny looks, which turned him on.”
And Sherry says her new life has left her feeling and looking her best ever. She says, “In my forties, I looked frumpy and was bored. Now, with the help of healthy eating, regular exercise and a bit of Botox, I look and feel great. My new job as a dominatrix has given me a new lease of life.
“I’m not embarrassed by what I do, far from it. My family and friends have all been supportive. My neighbours know too and have been great about it – they love hearing the stories! Even if I won the lottery, I’d still do it. There’s no greater feeling than getting my whip out and making a man wince.”
