5 MINUTES WITH...

-

Former Cold Feet beauty Helen Baxendale, 48, who stars in hit sitcom Cuckoo – BBC Three’s most successful comedy show, don’t you know…

What’s in store for series four? It’s basically a slice of family life in the well-situated market town of Lichfield, England.

Is working with Greg Davies as entertaining as it looks?

It’s great. We all get on, and there’s a real family feel about doing this show.

Does being on telly in your PJS and make-up free faze you?

No, I don’t mind the PJS – and to be honest, you’re never completely make-up free…

You look beautiful – all the time – please share your secret?

I think you need to check your glasses! I swim every other day for 20 minutes – it’s boring, but I feel better afterwards.

What’s the first thing you do when you get home after work?

I put on a pair of trousers with an elasticated waist…

You’re a very well-known face (Helen has appeared in US sitcom Friends, as well as starring in Cold Feet) – what happens when you go out?

Sometimes, people think they know me from their work or some dinner party they’ve been at. Once, when a bloke asked me where he’d seen me before I said I was sometimes on the telly. He answered, “No, it’s not that – our kids go to the same school.” That was pretty embarrassing.

Have you watched any of Cold Feet since it was brought back [Helen’s character Rachel was killed off in 2003]?

I watched most of the first new series and I really enjoyed it. It was sad not to be in it, but my character is dead, so that’s that. Cold Feet was very special to me, and I’m very fond of all of the gang. Mostly, I keep in contact with the girls..

Do you watch Cuckoo?

My family all love Cuckoo, so they do. I sort of waft in and out. Watching myself is bl**dy awful!
