Michelle and Mark battle it out for the best body
The loved-up couple’s competitive streaks have stepped up a gear as they bond over their extreme fitness regimes
They both looked T incredible as they showed off their gym-honed bodies on holiday in Majorca last week – with Michelle Keegan and husband Mark Wright taking loved-up selfies as they sunbathed on a yacht. And pals say the fitnessobsessed couple, both 31, have a joke going about who has the best body – and it’s the secret to keeping their marriage strong.
A source says, “Michelle and Mark both take pride in their looks and make workouts a priority, so there’s always been a healthy competition between them when it comes to how fit they are. When they’re together between their work commitments, Mark does what he calls ‘the abs contest’ before they get ready for bed at night by seeing whose stomach is looking the most defined.
“And when they go to the gym together, they devise little competitions to see who can run the longest or fastest with their workouts. They’ll even do sit-ups during the advert break if they’re having a night in, and love to see who can do them the fastest.”
Opening up about the rivalry between them in the past, former TOWIE star Mark said, “When we play games or swim, we are quite competitive. I’m a competitive person with things I choose to do.”
SEXY SELFIES
And pals say it adds healthy banter to their long-distance relationship, which Mark recently admitted “is not the easiest” as they live on opposite sides of the Atlantic. Mark has been based in LA since last August, where he presents entertainment show Extra, while Michelle is in the UK, where she’s carved out a career as a successful actress.
The source says, “Their living situation is tough and it can be very stressful, so they try to keep things fun as much as they can.
“Mark will often Facetime Michelle from the treadmill at his gym in LA, and joke about how he’s running faster than she can, and they send each other sexy gym selfies, too.”
The pair, who celebrated their third wedding anniversary in May, have both got sports sponsorship deals – with Mark signed to Umbro, while the Our Girl star has her own sportswear range with Very.co.uk.

The source says, “They’re always light-heartedly trying to get one up on each other about who earns more, so the competitive streak is very present when it comes to work, too.”
And pals say their recent holiday gave them much-needed time together to reconnect.
