Lisa’s new man has made her smile again
he was left S heartbroken after discovering that her estranged husband Ant Mcpartlin had found romance with former PA and pal Anne-marie Corbett.
But after jetting out to LA last month, Lisa Armstrong, 42, put her heartache behind her, spending time with old friends and transforming her look with a “revenge” makeover. And after being pictured looking upbeat as she arrived back in the UK amid reports she’s lost the better part of a stone through healthy living, insiders say she’s secretly met a new man.
FRESH START
A source reveals, “Lisa told pals that being in LA has done her the world of good. She’s lost weight and feels confident; she feels she’s been given a new lease of life, and even admitted she’s met someone. It’s very early days, but it’s put a smile back on her face and is just what she needed. He’s based in LA, but she’s open to flying back and forth. Friends wouldn’t be surprised if she considers a potential move there in the future. She’s not putting too much pressure on the romance, but she’s enjoying the attention.”
TV make-up artist Lisa has work ties to the UK, with the new series of Strictly kicking off in September. But insiders previously revealed to Closer how her Britain’s Got Talent boss Simon Cowell had offered to help her carve out a career in the States, and sources say a new romance could make the move a more attractive option.
The source adds, “Lisa adores being out in the sunshine and she has some old friends in LA who she loved catching up with. She’s thinks a future in the States might be the perfect way to mark a fresh start. Obviously she has work commitments in the UK, but she’s always said she’s open to a move in the future. And she’s told pals that meeting this new man has made the idea even more appealing. Right now, Lisa and her mystery man are staying in contact over the phone and seeing how things go .”
Lisa was devastated when Ant’s romance with Anne-marie was revealed in June – insisting on Twitter that she was once a close friend and that he had not been in contact to warn her. Last week, her former Deuce bandmate, Craig Robert Young, who Lisa spent a lot of time with in LA, blasted Ant – who went to rehab in 2017 for addiction to painkillers and again early this year following his drink-drive arrest – in a furious Twitter rant. He wrote, “I do believe drugs and alcohol addiction is an illness, but it’s not an excuse for such utter disregard for good humans.” He added, “In a few years you might come to realise the pain you have caused and the irreparable wounds that can’t heal.”
Last week, Lisa appeared to be pining for her dog, Hurley – whom she shares with Ant. Commenting on pictures of the pooch on Twitter, she wrote, “Yay my beautiful baby!” Adding the hashtag, “miss my boy.” While in LA, Lisa got a tribute tattoo to her beloved dog, with paw prints on her arm.
Sources recently reported that Ant, 42, was pleading with Lisa to hurry up and sign their divorce papers. And insiders say Lisa – who has reportedly cut contact with Ant’s presenting pal Declan Donnelly and his wife Ali Astall– is now ready to move on.

The source adds, “Lisa has told pals it’s a new chapter in her life and she won’t be weighed down by her past heartache. She’s found her time in LA therapeutic and feels ready to move on.
