Andrea: ‘i felt that my family would be better off without me’

She suffered from crippling postnatal depression following the birth of her daughter Amy, now 11, and Loose Women star Andrea Mclean, 48, says that the support of her partner Nick Feeney has proved invaluable. She said, “I felt that my family and daughter would be better off without me. I still have dark moments, but I’m really lucky that I have a partner who is 100 per cent behind me and he notices when I’m starting to dip a wee bit.”

Mum-of-three Melinda Messenger’s postnatal depression caused major tension during her marriage to Wayne Roberts, from whom she split in 2012 after 14 years. The TV star and former glamour model, 47, said, “One time Wayne wanted to go to a football match and I became hysterical. Other times, I hated him – I was convinced he was the problem and that our marriage was over… I felt every emotion imaginable, from guilt to stupidity and fear.”

Former glamour model Danielle Lloyd, 34, has opened up about the postnatal depression that blighted her pregnancie­s, admitting it also had a negative impact on her relationsh­ip with then-husband Jamie O’hara, with whom she shares three sons. She said, “You don’t want to admit there’s anything wrong, but I just felt really guilty because you’re supposed to be taking the baby out and enjoying it. It did cause a lot of problems in our relationsh­ip.”
