Relationship expert and clinical psychologist, Dr Abigail San, says, “Lies and deceit certainly erode a marriage very quickly, so I would always advise against that. But humans are hardwired to have one primary partner and by adding people into a relationship, you are going against your need for an attachment bond. While these sorts of ‘arrangements’ might seem to be the answer, I would advise caution as you might be in a state of denial and convincing yourself you are comfortable with the situation when it could create feelings of rejection and insecurity.”
