Coleen’s nerves over big move

Pals say Coleen Rooney is still getting used to the idea of relocating to Washington D.C. with footballer husband Wayne and their boys

❛WAYNE’S ASKED HER TO GIVE IT HER BEST SHOT AND SEE IT AS AN EXCITING NEW CHALLENGE❜

She was S pictured enjoying a sightseeing tour of Washington D.C. with husband Wayne and their eldest son Kai, eight, last week – after the footballer signed to the US team in June.

But insiders say Coleen Rooney – who is also mum to Klay, four, Kit, two, and fourmonth-old baby Cass Mac – has admitted to pals that she’s still nervous about making the move, which is said to be a trial run until they get settled.

FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN

A source reveals, “On a recent night out in London with her girlfriends, Coleen admitted to being apprehensive about relocating soon. It’s still only temporary to see how she and the boys will get on, but understandably she’s a little fearful of the unknown.

“Coleen’s a real homebody and so close to her family. She fears being so far away could leave her feeling isolated, but she doesn’t like the idea of being long-distance with Wayne, either. It’s a tough decision.”

Wayne, 32, was previously expected to move to China back in 2016 after being offered a reported £100m deal, but those plans never materialised. And pals say Coleen, 32, hadn’t been completely prepared for the deal in Washington to go through.

The source adds, “It all happened so fast. One minute it was something Wayne and Coleen were just discussing, then the next Wayne was offered the deal and had to make a speedy decision. Coleen was supportive, but it’s been a lot to get used to. She’s researching schools in Washington as well as homes suitable for them – just to get her head around the idea of living somewhere new if it becomes permanent. In an ideal world, Coleen and the boys would split their time 50/50 between America and the UK, but Wayne has been trying to convince her that a fresh start will be good for their marriage.”

The couple – who are in the process of building a £20 million mansion in Cheshire – went through a rocky 2017, and Coleen is said to be hoping that Wayne will stay out of trouble in his new stomping ground. He hit the headlines last September after getting caught drink-driving in party girl Laura Simpson’s car.

POSITIVE CHANGE

As Closer previously reported, Wayne is now desperate to prove that his bad behaviour is in the past and believes that a change of scenery will have a positive effect on the whole family.

The source says, “Wayne has asked Coleen to give Washington her best shot and try to see it as an exciting new challenge. It’s wonderful hearing Wayne being so positive, but it doesn’t stop Coleen from fretting about the future. She’s still overseeing renovation to their new home and it’s comforting that they’ll always have that UK family base if they need it.”

Last week also saw Coleen hit back on Twitter after a passenger accused an airline of forcing them to switch seats on a flight to make room for her.

She Tweeted, “I was given these seats on check in and that was that. I didn’t ask for certain seats, just took what I was given. The man whose complaining with the very sarcastic attitude is trying to make me out as some diva… which I am far from.”
