SWEAT-PROOF ESSENTIALS
Beat the heat, like Ferne, with our five make-up tips and tricks
Prevent panda eyes
The best waterproof mascara won’t budge in heat, humidity or during a gym session. The trick is to apply a light coat and fix in place with a setting spray (remember to keep your eyes closed!). Using a primer under your eyeshadow will stop it smudging, too. Plump for an oil-based make-up remover to shift it before bed.
Reduce redness
Calming a flushed face is easier than you might think. Cliniquefit face powder is made for pre and post exercise, so it’s perfect for when you’re working up a sweat. The colour correcting powder neutralises and conceals redness, and the built-in sponge makes it easy to apply on the go. Dust a light layer under your foundation to control shine and combat red cheeks caused by the heat.
Fix-up brows
A smudged brow is never a good look, and this is why The Body Shop has just launched the amazing new Brow Sport. Up to 96 per cent of users agree it doesn’t flake or fade and stays intact after an active day. Simply apply like you would your usual browfixing product and let the power pen do its thing – not all heroes wear capes, ladies.
Slide-proof your base
Want a foundation that’ll last all day? L’oréal’s Infallible 24H matte formula is steam and water-proof and it’s also waterbased, which will make your face look less oily in the heat. Just prep with a lightweight primer first and finish with a fine translucent powder, to help conceal pores.
spritz and set
Finishing spray should be the last thing you apply to your face after your make-up, and this oil-free winner not only holds everything in place, but it also helps protect your skin against harmful everyday pollutants. Just think of it as an invisible shield that helps keep make-up from melting.
