Cheryl’s worries over Bear meeting Liam’s new love
As her ex Liam Payne is linked to a string of women, pals say Cheryl is concerned about the prospect of their son being introduced to his future girlfriends
He’s wasted no H time in moving on following his split from Cheryl six weeks ago, after being linked to 18-yearold Instagram star Maya Henry last week, then spotted kissing American model Cairo Dwek, 20, just days later.
And pals say 24-year-old Liam Payne’s flirty behaviour has ignited fears for ex-girlfriend Cheryl, 35, over their one-yearold son, Bear, as she worries about him being introduced to the singer’s future girlfriends.
FEELING UNEASY
A source says, “Cheryl always knew Liam would eventually move on and meet someone else, but nobody expected it to happen so quickly. This has made her have to face-up to the possibility of Bear meeting a new serious partner of Liam’s far sooner than she may have expected, and that’s triggered a range of emotions.” Last year, the 1D star called Cheryl “superwoman” after she revealed they didn’t have a nanny and were looking after Bear “24/7.” But as she returns to work to film new BBC show The Greatest Dancer, friends say she’s also concerned about being apart from Bear. The source says, “She’s extremely protective of Bear and is used to spending all her time with him, so the possibility of him sometimes being away from her now she and Liam have split is hard enough, but to know he could end up spending time with Liam’s new love interests is bound to make her feel uneasy. of Bear too, and would never purposely do anything to unsettle him.”
Liam’s former bandmate Louis Tomlinson, 26, hit the headlines in 2016 when his son, Freddie, now two – from a fling with American stylist Briana Jungwirth – was pictured as a newborn with Louis and his then-girlfriend, Danielle Campbell, 23.
At the time, Briana, 25, lashed out on Twitter, saying, “You can pretend all you want but you will NEVER be my son’s mother.” And sources close to Cheryl say they wouldn’t be surprised if the singer is nervous about ending up in a similar situation, as Liam told her how Louis had spoken to him about how hard it was.
The source says, “There are still a huge range of emotions swirling between Cheryl and Liam. She’s aware he may not be serious with anyone right now, but that will obviously change at some point. Cheryl wants to protect Bear from any confusing situations or disruption at all costs and that’s playing on her mind, but she’s also conscious of her own emotions.”
BACKLASH
And last week, Liam’s ex, Danielle Peazer, 30 – whom he dated for two years – hinted they were back in touch when she revealed to her Instagram followers that she’d heard some of his music that’s yet to be released. When one fan asked her, “Are you still in touch with Liam?” she cryptically replied, “I’m gonna keep that between him and I.”
The source adds, “Liam’s love life is all everyone’s gossiping about and that’s hard for Cheryl to hear.”
Cheryl appeared to be putting her best foot forward last week as she started filming for The Greatest Dancer. But her comeback was overshadowed when Jermaine Pennant – who previously played for Arsenal with Cheryl’s first husband, Ashley Cole – stole headlines ahead of entering CBB, claiming she was still “caught up over” Ashley. Jermaine’s comments came just a week after he claimed Ashley had a girlfriend when he started dating Cheryl in 2004. Liam’s profile is also set to skyrocket as he releases his new music this week.
It seems the singer – who showed off her toned abs in a crop top while filming her new show – couldn’t catch a break as she was also cruelly trolled for her appearance. One posted, “When you lose your elastic belly skin after having children, crop tops need to go,” while another said, “Wrinkly belly!”
The source says, “Of course Cheryl was gutted to see such negative comments about the way she looks – especially when she is also having to deal with stories about Liam being seen out with other girls. This was supposed to be her exciting return to work, so for it to be overshadowed by hurtful comments really put a downer on it. But she’s trying to stay focused and enjoy her comeback.”
