Coleen’s fresh fears over America move

It’s early days but pals say Coleen Rooney is already worrying about adjusting to life in the US

- By Daisy Mclure

She stayed less S than a month in Washington before jetting back to her native Liverpool last week. And pals say settling in America has been a challenge for Coleen Rooney, adding that she can’t help but wonder whether uprooting her four young sons to the US for husband Wayne’s football career at DC United is going to prove more difficult than she’d thought.

HOMESICK

A source says, “There have been times when Coleen’s already felt homesick. She’s spent the past two weeks getting their new house organised and trying to get the boys settled in, which has been hard as she feels worried about them settling into a new life when they were so happy back in Liverpool and had such a great group of friends.

“She wasn’t due to go home until later on in September, but she decided to go back for the bank holiday weekend in the hope that spending time with friends and family would give her a pick-me-up.”

Coleen, 32 – who shares Kai, eight, Klay, five, Kit, two, and six-month-old Cass with Wayne, also 32 – recently revealed how she didn’t think twice about joining Wayne across the pond.

Opening up ahead of the move, she said, “When Wayne signed, there was no doubt in my mind that we wouldn’t go. We are a family.”

However the source says, “Coleen was always going to follow Wayne if he moved abroad for his football career, but as it’s been difficult to settle, she’s now anxious about spending the next two years there and she’s been worrying about how it’s all going to work out.”

NEW MARRIAGE RULES

The childhood sweethearts – who recently celebrated ten years of marriage – were hit with scandal last year, after Wayne was caught drink-driving in party-girl Laura Simpson’s car. But the couple – who’ve weathered numerous storms over the years – have managed to put the drama behind them. And insiders told Closer how Coleen has laid down a set of new marriage rules for the footballer. While the star is still anxious about relocating, she’s told pals that she’s going to do whatever it takes to go back to the US with a new mindset.

The source adds, “Spending some time with loved ones made her realise that she needs to be as positive as possible and go to extra efforts to help herself – and the boys.

“She’s already decided to host a lunch for some of the other footballers’ wives and become involved in the boys’ school and use it as a way to make friends. She’s determined to go back with a fresh head and put her all into this for her, Wayne and their children.”
