She’s reportedly s been nervous about settling into life in the States after recently relocating her family to Washington with footballer husband Wayne Rooney.

And insiders say Coleen Rooney was left hurt last week, after a barrage of trolls accused her of putting her three sons in danger by sharing a photo of them online in their new school uniforms – revealing the school’s name on the jumpers.

The 31 year old, who has a combined wealth of £124 million with Wayne, posted a picture on Instagram of sons Kai, eight, Klay, five, and Kit, two, with the caption, “First Day for my Boys at School in America”.

One troll responded, “Oh look everyone I’ll show you pictures of my boys so if you decide to kidnap them you’ll get the right ones.”

kidnap threats

Another added, “School name visible on the shirts, now any wronguns know what school to stake out.” And one said, “Wasn’t there a gang caught that were going to kidnap them, why draw attention to them, I appreciate you love and are proud but keep it to friends and family.”

A source reveals, “Coleen was stunned and hurt by the reaction to the photo. She would never dream of putting her sons in any danger. She thought it was an innocent photo and felt panicked when people commented about the boys’ safety and mentioned kidnap threats. Wayne reassured her that they have a great team of security around them, but it still left her unnerved.”

In 2016, a gang of armed raiders attempted to break into the Rooneys’ £6 million Cheshire mansion. The gang fled the scene in a getaway car after the security system was triggered, but reportedly left behind a backpack containing gaffer tape and electrical ties – prompting fears of a kidnap plot.

Coleen – who is also mum to son Cass, six months – recently opened up about the difficulty of leaving her family in the UK behind to move to Washington after Wayne signed with D.C. United in June. She said, “It was an emotional conversation with my mum. It’s hard not being able to pop down the road – an eighthour flight is a long distance. You can’t just nip over for a cup of tea.”

panic

And insiders say this latest incident has left her missing home more than ever.

The source says, “The boys starting school was an exciting day, but Coleen already felt emotional because she knew her mum and dad would have loved to have been there to support the boys and wish them well.

“She and Wayne went through an ordeal when they were almost burgled in 2016 and the thought the gang could have been plotting a kidnap left her terrified. These latest comments about kidnap fears and safety have caused fresh panic for her.”
