Can Coleen and Wayne ever escape their past?

They’d hoped Washington would mark a new start Wayne suffers claims he’s “bored” after he’s pictured yawning on a family day out Fans accuse Coleen of masking her sadness as they bring up previous scandals

She’d hoped their S recent move to the States would mark a fresh beginning for her and husband Wayne after enduring a tough 2017 – which saw the footballer arrested for drink-driving while behind the wheel of party girl Laura Simpson’s car.

But Coleen Rooney was left frustrated last week when fans accused her of secretly masking her unhappiness after she shared a photo of her and Wayne, 32, on a night out.

One fan commented, “The sadness in her eyes and not full smile says it all,” while another wrote, “I have worn that smile before… for my children and the outside world”.

UPSETTING COMMENTS

Referencing Wayne’s past bad behaviour, one fan even insisted, “You look lovely, have lovely boys, but he will break your heart as he has done about 2,3,4… lost count now how many times.”

A pal reveals, “Coleen was really upset to get such a negative reaction to what was supposed to be a happy photo. She’s doing her best to settle herself and her family into their new surroundings and forget the past. But she feels as if some people just won’t ever let her and Wayne move on – these slurs have left her furious. Wayne reassured her it’s nothing to get upset about, but it irritates her that they’re still being attacked.”

Just days later, trolls laid into the couple again as pictures emerged of Wayne looking bored on a family shopping trip in their new home city – with one implying he’ll cheat again, saying, “He looks miserable as sin. Only a matter of time before he finds some entertainment elsewhere again…”

The pal says, “Coleen is trying her hardest to adapt to the move and do what’s best for her marriage. It’s been tough to be living apart from her family and she just wishes people would be supportive of their relationship and this new chapter in their lives.”

HUMILIATED

Following their turbulent 2017, Wayne fought hard to save the marriage and, after months of speculation, Coleen broke her silence on the split rumours in November, confirming in a candid Facebook post that the couple were giving things a second chance after the footballer’s “silly and selfish mistake”. Since then they have actively shared photos online, hinting at a renewed closeness.

But just last month, Coleen was reportedly left hurt and humiliated when a US article profiling Wayne’s career went into detail about their past marital issues and even described him as a “prostitute sh***er.” The New York Post discussed the 2004 bombshell claims that Wayne, 32, had regularly visited prostitutes, one being a then 48-year-old grandmother, which he later admitted to. It also mentioned Wayne’s drink-driving arrest last September following his night out with Laura Simpson.

The source adds, “Coleen has insisted no one knows her relationship better than her and Wayne and she knows what’s best for them as a family. She forgave Wayne and wants to forget their past scandals, not have them constantly dragged up. She’s told pals if she can accept Wayne’s apology and move forward, everyone else should let them.”
