5 MINUTES WITH...

Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’acampo and Fred Sirieix, who pack up their campervan to head off on another European adventure. What could possibly go wrong?

-

So, how was the trip? GORDON, 51: What a trip. If there’s ever a marriage made in heaven it has to be a Scotsman, an Italian man and a French man… Did you annoy each other? GORDON: Gino thinks he can siesta from eight o’clock in the morning until four o’clock in the afternoon. He is a man who needs lots of sleep and he doesn’t like working too hard! GINO, 42: When you live in each other’s shoes like we did for nearly a month, there are always things that annoy you about each other. But then everything is fine, you get on, you make peace. Did you have any fallouts? GORDON: Yes, because every time Gino reversed the van it was like he was reversing a bumper car at a fairground. He had no idea. GINO: The best driver is definitely Fred, because Gordon gets distracted and then he gets very boyish. He goes fast, he goes around the roundabout and doesn’t care about anyone else. Me, I am the same. I get distracted very easily. How was it sleeping together in the van? GINO: It was a bl**dy nightmare – because Fred snores and Gordon is too big and he takes all the bed, all the space. GORDON: It was fine until Gino started cuddling me because he was getting a bit nervous out in the wild on his own with no teddy bear, no hot chocolate, no Netflix and no moisturiser cream for his Italian skin… What did you enjoy eating the most on tour? FRED, 46: Gino got us to discover the oldest pizzeria in Naples, and they make the best pizza I have ever tasted… GINO: The pizza was fantastic, it makes you understand what Italian food is all about. Gordon, did you enjoy your satnav experience? [The boys’ Tom Tom featured Gordon’s voice] GORDON: I found it hilarious. I couldn’t believe they [the programme makers] had done it though, because I was focusing on driving and all you hear is these swear words coming out. It was funny.
