‘We’re still active in the bedroom – it’s important’
LINDA LUSARDI, 60
Former glamour model Linda Lusardi, 60, has been married to ex-brookside actor Sam Kane, 49, for 20 years. The couple have daughter Lucy, 21, and son Jack, 16.
Linda says, “When Sam and I got together, it was very flattering to have this gorgeous young man interested in me. I did initially worry about our age-gap, and that by the time I reached 60, he would still only be in his late forties – but the differences between us are barely noticeable. If anything, Sam is probably more mature than I am! He has given me a much younger outlook on life and I think if I’d been with someone my age, or older, I’d have been left behind with mastering things like technology.
“Sam’s massively boosted my self-esteem, too. He’s always told me how lovely I am – every day of my life – and so I’ve never worried about ageing, as I might have done otherwise. We’re still active in the bedroom, too, and he’s certainly not slowing down, whereas if I was married to someone who was 70, that might easily be the case – and those things are important. It also makes me aware of what I look like and I like to stay trim.
“My previous marriage [to a builder, Terry] was very miserable, and Sam saved me in every way– he gave me a life I could only have dreamed of. I had children in my late thirties so I got to experience more of life, plus the kids have kept me young too. I definitely think women who are with younger men tend to be able to be themselves and enjoy life more.”
