As Ant Mcpartlin’s girlfriend sparks pregnancy rumours, fans worry how his estranged wife Lisa Armstrong will cope with any future baby news
Ant Mcpartlin stunned fans when his romance with former PA Anne-marie Corbett was revealed in June – leaving estranged wife of 11 years, Lisa Armstrong, publicly heartbroken.
And last week, fans feared the Strictly make-up artist could be set for more agony when speculation heightened that Anne-marie could be pregnant. Ant was spotted leaving The Ivy restaurant in London after a cosy dinner with Annemarie, 42, who sported an eye-catching yellow dress that appeared to show a slight bump. One fan commented, “Definitely baby on board,” while another added, “She’s 100% pregnant.”
Fans were also quick to address that the baby riddle would prove hurtful to Lisa, 41, who endured fertility struggles throughout her marriage to the TV presenter. Ant, 42, admitted in 2013 that the couple had been trying for years to have children, but it was “tougher than you think when you get a bit older.”
One fan commented on the baby speculation, writing, “That would be devastating for Lisa,” while another speculated, “[Anne-marie] definitely wants the world to know she’s expecting by wearing something like that. I just feel for Lisa who gave him 20+ years of her life.”
Ant first sparked romance rumours with his PA after the pair were spotted together, just months after the breakdown of his marriage to Lisa in January. Sources said Anne-marie had helped Ant with his recovery, following his drink-drive arrest in March – with the star recently celebrating being six months’ sober after a public battle with addiction. Ant is currently taking a break from his TV duties in the wake of his treatment and will be replaced on this year’s I’m A Celeb! by Holly Willoughby.
Recently, photos of Ant and Anne-marie kissing while walking his chocolate Labrador, Hurley, whom he shares with Lisa, also surfaced.
And critics have blasted Ant for moving on so publicly, while sending their well wishes to Lisa. One fan wrote, “Hold your head up high, Lisa, you don’t have to go down to their level.” Another added, “It is beyond disrespectful to Lisa.”
