Style CV: Stacey Solomon

From her trainer obsession to her love of colour, Loose Woman and mum-of-two Stacey Solomon, 29, talks us through her life in style

I don’t have a signature style, I’ll give anything a try… If I think something looks cool, I don’t think about whether it’s going to suit me or not. Fashion should be about having fun. I’m so happy that trainers are considered trendy; I’m obsessed with dressing comfortably… Day-to-day, I usually wear a simple jeans and tee combo with a pair of trainers. I do try to avoid wearing all-black,

though, and will always have some sort of bright colour on to give my outfits a happy spin. I enjoy getting glammed up for the red carpet… but, behind closed doors, I basically live in pyjamas and loungewear. There’s nothing better than watching TV in a fluffy pair of pyjamas. I love Fearne Cotton’s style… She’s quirky and cool, but still relatable. I’d much rather get inspiration from someone like her than an unattainable supermodel like Kate Moss! Joe [Swash, Stacey’s partner of two and a half years] never buys me clothes… I don’t think he’d know where to start. He never judges what I’m wearing, though. Sometimes I think he looks at me through rose-tinted glasses; he thinks everything I wear is perfect. I became a mum at 17 (to son Zachary; she had Leighton aged 22) and my wardrobe hasn’t really changed since then… When I had Zachary, I hadn’t discovered my personal style yet, so my clothes were evolving. I think everyone is conscious of looking conservative at the school gates, though, so I avoid wearing short skirts and low-cut tops.” Turn to p36 for our chat with Stacey ● Stacey’s Primark A/W18 Collection is available in stores this week.
